Name some fighters that come to mind that became vastly overrated after a single brutal KO win, and it proved to be a fluke.

    Samuel Peter "vs. Jeremy Williams"
    Calvin Brock "vs. Zuri Lawrence"
    Rahman "vs. Lewis"

    Name some others.

Peter is the perfect one. a KO over a glass chinned jeremy williams and all of a sudden he's this unstopablle monster with a power that's a mix of tyson and foreman. what a joke. shows how desperate heavyweight division is for a star

I've never been hyped on Peter. The only time I rooted for him was on FNF against Julius Long so I could watch a 7'2 guy get KTFO. If Peter is one dimensional, Tito is Pernell Whitaker.

He LOST the first James Toney fight and then won the 2nd, but that's not saying much.

Golota was a talent, but had done nothing to justify the hype he got for quitting in every big fight he was ever in.

Mayorga is my choice. A career built off of one significant KO win.

Rahman blew it.. he won and then got cocky and lazy but IMO it was no fluke.. he schooled Lemmon like a bitch!

David Tua after John Ruiz and Joe Mesi after DaVarryll Williamson are easy ones

Perhaps Randall Bailey-Carlos Gonzalez could count

Mesi is still undefeated and dominated Jirov until his brain got the better of him. How can you consider him overhyped? You never know what would have happened.

I think he landed more powershots on Bowe than any heavyweight has ever landed in any heavyweight championship fight monitored by Compubox.

People hate on Andrew....and I have my criticisms of him too...but the guy was phenomenally talented and what he did to Bowe should never, ever be underestimated or dismissed.

Nobody- NO-BOD-EE...ever beat the shit out of Bowe the way Golota did.

Of course they had to start a steroids rumour after that because obviously no cracker could ever beat a black man like Bowe like that unless he had an unfair advantage.

Mesi was always brilliantly dangerous for a few rounds. Make no mistake about it, Mesi could fight. I never liked him personally because he was never in shape, but for a few rounds he could roll with the best of them. He just never got into shape and it cost him his career.

    Basically..

I mean, no doubt that Lemmon proved to be more consistant over his career but on the first fight they were both ready and we saw the results.

after the first Rahman just partied and was SOOOOO cocky that he was not even worried about it and Lemmon was serious and Lemmon got him.

    But..

if both equally prepared, Rahman beats Lemmon every time
