On paper you'd think that Valuev would be too big. However Forbes fights tall therefore nullifying the height advantage for Valuev.

Given Forbes exceptional hand speed and reflexes which are better than Valuev's i think you have a UD for Steve Forbes.

Size means zero advantage in boxing. Bob Fitsimmons knocked out big guys and he was a middleweight, and there are plenty of examples of smaller guys beating middleweights so we can safely assume that any piss-weight fighter would kill Valuev. Just like former midget champs would beat him, since new techniques don't help in boxing either

That's mostly true, but i think Valuev would be hell for a lot of lightweights. However Steve Forbes ability to fight tall makes the difference here.

I still think Oscar can find a way to beat Forbes though. It's all about styles, cos apparently they make fights.

I can't envision a scenario in which Oscar wins once his height is taken away by someone who can fight tall the way Forbes is capable of doing.

Even with that disadvantage, Oscar can jab and that has to count for something. Look at how easily Hopkins outboxed Forbes, even though Steve fought tall.

The Hopkins fight was an abberation. Also Oscar abandonded his jab against Mayweather who doesn't fight tall. The moment Oscar is encountered with Forbes' tall fightingness he'll once again dispense the jab and go into a shell.

So Oscar dispensed the jab against short fightingness, so because of that, you assume he will do it against tall fightingness?

Can a short fighter who fights tall beat a tall fighter who fights short if the short fighter is tall and the tall fighter is fat?

No, if the short fighter fights fat

As for this Mythical Matchup, Even though Valuev's Arm is Probably Loooooooonger than Forbes ENTIRE Body, REED Thinks Steve could OUTJAB him to a Clear-Cut Points Victory...

Don't forget that Forbes is a former lightweight champion who lost his title on the scale. He's a natural heavyweight who shrank himself down to the lightweight crown and was never defeated in the ring.

I agree Toney does not fight fat very well. Mark Breland used to fight fat
