Undefeated longtime former super middleweight champion Sven Ottke confirmed on Monday that his comeback bout against Dariusz Michalczewski is on for May 24th in Hannover, Germany. A press conference is scheduled for tomorrow to officially announce the bout, which will be billed as "It's Never Too Late." Ottke has stepped in for Graciano Rocchigiani, who was originally slated to face Michalczewski, but could not reach final terms. Promoter Jakub Andreas Grajewski has not yet finalized a TV deal for the fight, which is estimated to attract ten million viewers.

Taking a page from RJJ/Tito, I'll still be interested in watching this.

Two of the most avoided fighters of 1990-2000s. The greatest super-middle ever against the long-reigning former linear lt. heavy champion. Both past their prime, but the whole boxing world should give these legends their proper respect

Dariusz meets a guy Jones didn't want to know about at 168 lbs, Ottke meets a guy Jones didn't want to know about at 175. Ironic

Is it true that JOnes and Ottke sparred a bit and Jones was totally flumoxed at Ottke's superior speed and skill? Some ref had seen the session I think the ref was a German guy.

Correction, NEITHER of those Euro Clowns Wanted to TEST THEMSELVES Against a Man who was UNQUESTIONABLY THE BEST Fighter N the World Lb 4 Lb AND "The MAN" from 168-175 from the Mid 90's til the Early 00's...

Instead, they HID N Europe, Beating T.B.A.'s Left & Right, NameDropping Roy Jones AFTER the Fact...

    Impressive:rolleyes:

Roy Jones has a BETTER Resume than Both of those Clowns COMBINED...What's Sad is even YOU KNOW It...

I was looking forward to and actually quite enjoyed Roy vs Tito.

I honestly couldn't give a shit about this. Even when they were active, they were 2 of the most boring and annoying fighters around.

Ottke was ottke of course, boring, feather fisted, and owner of the most gift decision of any champion in recent years.

Mikkelboffski was nothing special, and is proud host of one of the most pathetic performances ever against Rocchi.

Ottke also dominated Glen Johnson, and we all know what Glen did to Jones.

Sorry, but REED Wouldn't Call a PLETHORA of QUESTIONABLE (& Best) Verdicts "Cleaning Out" a Division:nono: ...

Ottke Retired "Undefeated",yet his Resume is LITTERED w/B- or C+ Fighters AT BEST...He NEVER Even Fought a B+ or A- Fighter, Nevermind an ELITE Fighter...

Will Rudolph Eichman Make an Appearance N this Thread???...

I understand Ottke being called boring....but Dariusz? He was in a bunch of exciting fights and never met a punch he didn't like. I don't get it.

Well someone I just don't find him exciting. Like Tszyu, despite him being an attacking fighter, I didn't find him exciting.

It's also my viewpoint that the Rocchigiani debacle was unforgivable.

Thats because it is unforgiveable. I'm just saying that the guy isn't boring. Least not to me anyway.

I think the judges will have the hardest time scoring this fight because they won't know who they want to win.

Doesn´t really matter. All that matters are 2.5 million Euros, so Ottke can pay his ex-wife and Dariusz can pay his vodka.

Guess Ottke should win this. He didn´t look completely shot, when he retired and is probably taking this more seriously.

On the bright side I know I´ll get to see Abraham vs. Sturm in 15 years.

Ironically, both Shitski and Ottke, two of the better champions of recent years, will make Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more money for this than either Jones or Tito. Hard currency coupled with a sell out croud and a massive TV Audience in Germany.

    Wipe your ass with that.......

Glen Johnson could do nothing with Ottke, but he knocked Jones the fuck out with one punch.
