http://sport.guardian.co.uk/boxing/story/0,,2255853,00.html?gusrc=rss&feed=networkfront ....a great profile piece, really get a sense of Hopkins' intensity I used to despise Hopkins, but now, although i am far from a fan, i enjoy his charisma outside of the ring. He's clever and funny, but a perhaps little too shrewd and cunning
if you click here http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/audio/2008/feb/11/bernard.hopkins.interview you can here the audio: its funny because the interviewer mentions schooly d the great rapper from philly Bernard says yeah hes in prison for life for robbing a bank, he's wrong because that was steady B whos also from philly ::
If Hopkins couldn't fuck Winky up, then he isn't fucking Joe up. In fact, when was the last time he fucked ANYONE up? 2001.
Boxing is different every fight Boxers excel in one fight and then seem lacklustre in the next fight. I want Calzaghe to win, but after seeing the Hatton fight, i just say anything can happen.
That was a good interview, but I think it had more to do with the fact that Donald Mcrae (Dark Trade: Lost in Boxing) wrote it than it did the fact that Hopkins had anything particularly deep to say. Mcrea even managed to make James Toney sound insightful, profound and relatively articulate, so he's obviously quite a few notches above the level of most of the interviewers we get to read here. Cupey excepted of course. :shit: ::
Question: Bernard what do you think of Antonio Tarver saying all roads in the division go through him? Bernard Hopkins: Say no to drugs ::
