this fight has haunted my life...

i tried rewatching it, but can't bear it. as soon as the malevolent tillermann starts warning reid for landing body shots, 90 seconds into the first round, i had to stop.

i will never forgive germany or belgium for this. i thought i had dealt with the trauma, but the wounds are still there. i love german literature and philosophy, and i like belgian desserts, but this was just too too much...

No. The main gripe is that every time Reid tried to throw a punch Ottke, he was warned by the insane referee and stopped from doing so. After some time, the referee starting taking points of Reid. On one occasion, I think he was docked a point for jabbing Ottke in the face... :shit:

 

maybe the ref got some of the german poisen in his mouth and made him kinda wacked out

 

I've heard about this fight but this is the first time I've actually seen it. Just in the 6th round alone Reid knocks down Ottke, it's not called a KD and a minute later Reid has a point deducted for having Ottke jump into him in a clinch. :doh:
