Iole had it 7-5 for Pavlik. Mulvaney and Ortiz had different cards at ESPN, they differed on rounds 4 and 9.
dsimon writes: Great fight. No problems with the scoring. Merchant was on tonight, Stewart was off. I figured Taylor would be strong enough to last. That is what makes him so tough.
It was a good fight, not a great one. Credit to Taylor for improving from the first fight, and lasting the distance(proving most the forum wrong), but he got punished the last couple of rounds. Jermain though could still be force at 168. I'd love to see Kessler-Taylor. As for Pavlik, he can now drop down to 160 and clean house by disposing of the two pretenders Duddy & Abraham.
It was a split cunt hair close fight. You could have given it to either. Great technical fight with controlled aggression. I was hoping for a brawl but oh well. You'd be hard pressed to give either of these fighters a win by 1 round. It was that close in my eyes. These are 2 evenly matched fighters.
LOL It was not a hard fight to score IMO.It seems you really wanted Taylor to win and gave him every single benefit of the doubt in order to see it that way.
