I am actually thinking that Sultan is gonna pose some problems for Wlad. He is an active southpaw, has some pop, has a good workrate, and has a sturdy chin. I wouldn't be suprised at all if Sultan takes Wlad to the later rounds and makes Wlad tired. Although Wlad hasn't tired in a fight lately, it has happened. Sultan does seem like a durable, cagey fighter that may prove to be a burden. Anyways, thats a possibility, but. Wlad TKO9

I'm sick of this, WLARYKZRV?? verses IBUTDCVVV ??? ......whatever..two bums who are lucky basketball players aren't putting on gloves. qwieygfq;puoVVVV by who gives a shit.
Basketbal players? Have you seen them fight when team brawls brake out? When they go at it, they look like blinded giraffes whaling at each other like little girls with closed eyes.
:bears: :bears: Exactly, no matter what you say, satuday night is the crowning of the best boxer on the planet, every boxing fan fan should care. As for my prediction, Wlad doesn't seem to have any problem with tricky fighter, wich Iggy is, as he destroyed Byrd and Castillo with no problems, and, did the same to Brock after struggling a bit to find his groove. The catch is, Sultan is better than both, and more importantly, has some pop in his hands, I'd like him to win, and it wouldn't shock me if he does, but I'll go with the safe pick in Wlad
American genes are the greatest toughest slickest quickest bestest genes there is, do you dare refute this? When we are not on top, we must be elsewhere, ...period... case closed, argument over. The FACT is, Basketball players are big athletic guys who could have, and should have, moulded thier divine bodies into boxers, I mean skinny guys can fucken CRACK if taught properly,..does Tommy Hearns ring a bell???...they would have been unstoppable. same with NFL players, seriously, why else would wloovvv, iaaaVVV, chaVV and qoieyqqehVVV ....hold titles? Let me ask you this,...is a Russian the best baseball player?... NO,...is a Russian the best basketball player? NO..is a Russian the best NFL player?..NO,.... is a Russian the best golfer? NO,...is a Russian the best nascar driver?... NO..... ......so when you've got 4 of these fucken useless idiots, heavyweight champions,... you know somethin's gotta be the FUCK UP,.. and THIS IS IT,..:nono: !!!!
He's active....when he hasn't had a long, ramrod jab and a great right hand in his face coming right down the pike. Peace.
It is in fact. Perhaps not in the US though, for very obvious reasons. Over here, a heavyweight title fight is a bigger deal than say Pavlik-Taylor
and over here it's not a big deal at all. In fact you could put guys from the "lowly" 130 pound division on PPV and it would do much better than this fight.
Of course this fight is no big deal in the States...we don't have a single American heavyweight boxer worth a fuck. ::
Exactly. Lack of talent means lack of talented English-talkers and that is the reason heavyweights don't interest there
Yes because the heavyweights were so much more popular when Shannon Briggs won the title :: American or not the division as a whole is pretty much just shit (talent wise and entertainment wise) and hard to get excited over. Especially when the supposed top heavyweight is vulnerable as hell and has been starched in 3 fights where he was a huge favorite.
Wrong When you say "I could care less" you are purposely saying the expression wrong implying you simply do not give a fuck to the point that you can't bother to properly express how little you don't care.
I think this is a subtle reference to an article by a LA sports writer several years ago that was so against the possiblity of having Tyson fight in California that he said something along the lines of "we'll send Shaq to stop him from coming in" ::
I remember ESPN once had an interview with Shaq where he jokingly entertained the idea of fighting Lennox Lewis.
It seemed to me the talk of negotiations for Klitschko-Briggs got more attention from the American boxing media than this week's (actual) fight has...and that was before Briggs won the title.
Klitschko is a bigger name than Ibragimov...and I tend to remember there being more interest in the fight before the postponement that left it on pay per view (as opposed to on HBO the same day as Klitschko-Austin).
.... Which has nothing to do with the original post that I responded to. The guy said that people don't follow the heavyweights because they aren't American. I think otherwise and used Briggs as an example. I think people aren't all that high on the heavyweights because to be honest they aren't that entertaining and the talent pool is pretty shitty.
The American pool is certainly shitty. Ibragimov and Liakhovich weren't big names, belt or not, which is why Briggs against either didn't make much of a dent...and the belts are so watered down it didn't matter much whether Briggs had one or not. Fans know the name Klitschko...and they'd be more interested in watching a Klitschko fighting an American like Briggs (and probably Rahman) than a European. It's like the line from The Great White Hype, Americans aren't interested in watching "Euros beat up Euros".
Nah. Wlad is probably the best, but if Sultan wins, he still won't be the best. No matter what happens on Saturday, I'd pick Wlad, Chagaev, Thompson (yes, an American), Gomez, Povetkin,Valuev and Chambers over him. Then there are at least another 5 or more than are about the same level as Sultan. Oh yeah, Wlad TKO 7, but I think he might lose a round or two.
The fact is there's just not much interest no matter who it is. Why do you think they never bother putting Wlad on PPV? Whther he fights an American or European they never do. The supposed top heavyweights can't even sell a PPV the way a fight like Pacquiao-JMM will. When did you think you would see the day when guys who weigh 130 pounds could outsell any top heavyweights on PPV?
