Khan primed for Kristjansen fight "Amir Khan will face Martin Kristjansen on 5 April in an eliminator fight for a title shot at the WBO lightweight belt. The pair had been scheduled to meet on 2 February, but illness forced Dane Kristjansen to withdraw, so Gairy St Clair was named as a late replacement..." http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/boxing/7250866.stm Well, it has to be more entertaining than the St Clair bout, which was as entertaining as death by suffocation. Anyone see any reason why Khan won't win this one? I can't, to be honest. I must also ass that I'm amused at the BBC's assertion that Khan's 'ultimate fight' would be against Juan Diaz. Not quite yet, bonny lad... :nono: A good six weeks coming up for British fight fans then, what with Enzo-Haye on March 8th, Rees-Kotelnik on March 22 (and Gavin is still talking what I can only describe as hallucinatory jibberish: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/boxing/7239476.stm), Khan, then Calz-Hopkins on April 19 opcorn: MTF
It IS indeed! Though no doubt that is only a fortunate COINCIDENCE, considering that Amir has problems keeping his left hand high when he throws shots and has already been dropped like a stone by the heavy hitting (ahem) Willie Limond.
If they fought tomorrow, I would tend to agree with you, but I would be more inclined to be lenient if Khan: a. Fought someone with a scintilla of attacking intent b. Fought someone with a scintilla of punching power c. Kept his goddamn left hand by his CHIN when he throws the right hand Until then, I will remain wholly unconvinced...
But as this will never happen for years to come, your A, B and C are null and void and totally moot points. I can see the exact same pattern being set out for Khan like with Naseem Hamed 10 years ago when he got dropped by Daniel Alicea: keep him away from punchers, make loads of dosh and ensure the gullible British public jump on that bandwagon pushed along by pathetic-ITV. :shit: :shit: :shit:
