I know this sounds cliche, but c'mon. There has to be some kind of solution that could help boxing become a little normal! What can we, as true fans do to help the fight game legitimize itself? With all of the billions of dollars made in boxing's history and it's still an illegitimate sport! Some times, it may take a simple solution to overcome a big issue. John McCain wanted to get involved, but has not gotten far; for all of Teddy Atlas' grandstanding, there has been no ground gained. What can we do as the masses to make our voices heard?? Picket-signs? go on strike? none of those seem likely. Do you think boxing could get the same attention as baseball as far as the hearings are concerned? What would happen if boxing had to stand before congress and answer questions in front of the world? Would that change anything? WHAT THE HELL CAN BE DONE???:dunno:
Appoint Teddy Atlas the National Boxing Czar. Give him a nice big soapbox to stand atop and watch the miracles begin. :bears:
I don't expect anything. It's posted for the benefit of those who wish to read it. I'm not losing any sleep over your lack of interest, homeslce.
To be honest boxing is great to me. I mean people always harp on the past when they need to focus on the here and now. The one major thing I would change is that in order for guys to obtain their number 1 status they have to beat the #2 guy. They gotta continue to beat the ranked guys. If you haven't beaten a top ranked fighter then how can you be ranked in the top 10. Fighters not only have to earn their right to be ranked but they gotta keep that status as well. Just my thoughts. Oh yeah champions must fight other champions. I'll Holla 5000
Is money the only reason why the other weight classes outside of the traditional 8 exist? Do you all think that getting rid of these hybrid weight classes could be done?
Boxing is great seriously.. the issue with boxing is people saying there are issues with boxing Larry and Jim saying shit like "another black Eye for boxing" listening to them guys people that don't watch get very negative impressions right away. Boxing is doing just fine
:: vote for mccain. he's an avid fan, but also wants to clean it up. i like boxing the way it is now. teddy atlas can only do so much.
no joke. ever since the Mayweather/DLH fight, and even in between our local paper, the North County Times, has run a full half page on upcoming boxing cards whenever HBO or Showtime has an event. If anything, people are getting more exposure to it because of what Floyd and others have done in promoting.
