I was just reading the boxingtalk mailbag hoping to hear news about the upcoming Shane-Judah fight and G.Leon is on there talking about how much he hopes Judah wins and that he's going to make sure Judah gets on the phone with Winky & Forrest to get some pointers on beating Shane.

First of all what did Shane ever do to Leon? 2ndly that is some pretty unprofessional shit from a boxing site to get involved in shit like that IMO.

Anyway here's the email and that fuck Leon's response:

Hey man, I'm hearing that Zab Judah has employed Floyd Mayweather Sr. to co-train him along with his father for his fight against Shane Mosley. I thought that Judah should've made a move like this many fights ago! Floyd Sr. is a no-nonsense trainer and if anybody can 'pump up' Zab's skills Floyd Sr. can. I noticed over Zab's past few fights that he was strictly a one-handed fighter looking to land the left hand exclusively without setting it up with the right jab or following it up with the right hook! If Zab sticks to the plan and the tactics implemented by Floyd Sr, Shane Mosley will be in for a long night! Could it also be possible that Zab is seeking out Floyd Sr's guidance in preparation for an eventual rematch with Floyd Jr.?

Leon's Response: I know many people who feel Zab should have made a move like this many fights ago. I saw Yoel Judah in New York after the Klitschko, and he seemed very comfortable with his son working with Floyd Sr. 3,000 miles away, which is a good thing because there seem to be no egos involved. I'm riding hard with Zab on May 17, I want him to win the fight and I'm going to do everything I can to help him. I'm definitely going to put him on the phone with Vernon Forrest and Winky Wright and we's going to talk us some Shane Mosley. Zab doesn't believe a Mayweather rematch will ever take place and that's the right attitude for him to have because if he doesn't take care of business on May 17, it never will.

 

Don't mind G. Leon. He's a huge Zab nuthugger. And an even bigger Mayweather nuthugger. Take whatever he has to say about those two with a grain of salt.

 

Zab is going to retire Mosely. You heard it here first!!!!

I believe that after reading what he wrote about Judah after the Cotto fight. He made Judah sound like he was a fucking beast who just sacrificied himself for the people or something. I wrote his ass an email riping his shit up and laying the facts to him.

 

I wonder if they will publish your email on their mailbag. Sometimes they publish some letters from people ripping on them.

Well that letter was from the article he did after the Cotto fight, but I checked and he didn't publish it. I did write him an email yesterday but it was short and I basically just asked him why he was hating on Mosley and pulling for a chronic loser. Checked today and he didn't publish that one either although he did answer somebody else's question about why he's on Judah's dick.

 

The Mosley's (well, Jin, as I understand it) tried to have it written into the fight contract that Boxingtalk could be in no way shape or form involved with the fight as far as coverage copy and ringside credentials. Team Judah told em no way. And whatever...

 

Didn't Jin Mosley used to "write" for boxingtalk, at leat she used to be on the board. What happened for to 180 change of view

 

I forget. It was explained at one point, but it's so inconsequential to me personally, that it kinda went in one ear and out the other. It was something stupid that got Jin all pissy....perhaps some back and forth with a promotor, that Jin wanted banned from B-talk...or something. I shouldn't even speculate at this point because I honestly don't remember, but it was something like that.

 

Isn't Boxingtalk the site where Jin used to post articles about Gary Shaw referring him never by his name, but "Pig" instead? ::

 

Apparantley this why G.Leon and Mosley's have had a falling out. It appears they wanted him to post a story about Coralles and how Shaw had fucked him over or something and after G. read how vulgar it was he decided not to. I've only read his side so don't know the full facts but I do know Jin's decision to keep Shane away from btalk is not making me happy (if it was her decision.)

Anyway here is G. Leon's version of what caused the little feud:

Leon's Response: Thanks to the Bobfather Boxingtalk got credentialed for the Mosley-Cotto fight. He got our guys in, but under different entities, so the Mosley management wouldn't notice. Why wouldn't the Mosley management want us credentialed for the fight? Because I felt it was in poor taste and classless to allow a story reaming Gary Shaw for screwing Diego Corrales to be posted on Boxingtalk before my good friend was even placed in the ground. I felt there was no need to let the boxing world know that the Mosley's helped Diego save his house from the IRS, before the service to honor his memory took place. Honestly, I planned on running whatever they wanted to say because I've never had a problem giving anybody a forum on Boxingtalk. I hadn't even read the story when I forwarded it to Gary Shaw as a courtesy the days before I left for Diego's services in Vegas. Gary phoned me back and asked me if I had read the story, I said no. When I did and noticed how vulgar it was, I decided not to run it. I guess when I said, I decided not to run it, in the minds eye of the Mosley management, that meant Gary Shaw told me not to run it and I was choosing Gary Shaw over the Mosley's. The Mosley management is well aware of Boxingtalk's prowess, after all I am the one who put them on to Judd Burstein, have given them nothing but sound advice for free and up until this incident occured, considered them amongst my closest friends in boxing. It's a shame how overreacting to something and holding a grudge over nothing, can lead to friendships going up in smoke. But at the end of the day when things like that happen, you have to wonder what the friendship was ever really founded on?

True and it sounds just like the personality that Jin is reputed to have. The worst part is her making this personal only hurts Shane from a marketing standpoint if she did do it.

 

I got Jin's side of the story on why G. Leon and the Mosley's have had a falling out. Here it is:



"When it comes to business I rarely burn bridges. There are only 2, well now 3 that I have actually had to completely destroy.
When it comes to B-talk Greg's version is altered to benefit him. He has his version I have mine. I will start off by saying Greg's arrogance is the main problem. He seems to think he has risen to the level of celebrity status and is now equal to that of the fighters. Being a person who is privileged to be in the company of the elite I have honest access to the real opinions of people and not the media perception they need to portray and I can assure you 95% of the powers that be in boxing think Greg Leon is a joke. They entertain him because he is a nag and because Boxingtalk did at one time have some credibility. But the site has gone way down from where it once was.
In the early stages of Boxingtalk Shane & I were helping hands in buliding the site. I would hold exclusive contests with the site and would grant Greg exclusive interviews. I also went as far as banning Maxboxing for Greg. Which was very stupid of me being that they are the far superior website compared to B-Talk. I also would give Greg first hand scoops to information and would insist that he received information before other media. There were also times when Greg gave me first hand info and I would send him a check to show my gratitude when he complained how no one ever looked out for him. All in all we established a friendship and a loyalty to one another that his arrogance and ego destroyed.
After Diego died and Pigman went on record to tell horrible lies about my relationship with the Corrales's I along with Michelle sat down and wrote a rebuttle. I sent it to Greg to post as he has done many times before for me. A few days went by and there was no reply from Greg. I finally got ahold of him and he said it would post tomorrow when it didnt post I left it alone. I then received a call from 3 different ppl saying how Pig was furious with the e-mail and was going to sue. Come to find out Greg sent it to Gary. I called Greg inquiring why he would send it to Gary. I told him it's fine if you didnt want to post it. It is YOUR website but then why send it to him? I felt betrayed. When I asked him this he basically shrugged me off like whatever. And told me that Pig is a paying advertiser. I basically told him then that the friendship was over. I told him we both know how the other is relentless and spiteful and as a favor to eachother to just go on as neither one ever existed. I then banned him from the Cotto fight. He would call throughout and we would cordially speak but I told him I would not lift the ban. He is like a child and needed to be taught a lesson. At the time I was not burning the bridge just having fun with him. 4 days before the Cotto fight Greg went on to call G and other people and tell them blatant lies about me. He tried to call Shane directly and tell him things he has been hearing and fuck with his head. I called him and he lied at first then making threats and we had a war of the words. I of course won when he surrendered and swore my name or my familys would never leave his mouth again. 3 weeks later he texts me some more bullshit.
Greg is a bottom feeder. He thinks his jordans and his red monkey jeans catapult him into stardom. Anyone who has the pleasure of meeting him will tell you his braggart ways and maniacal tendencies are comical at first but then annoying. He has lost anyone & everyone who was close to him.
I apologize to all the fans that continue at his site for the lack of Shane interviews but he will be interviewing at *********.com consistently and also by request. Check that site for a contest to win tiks and hotel to the upcoming fight."

As wierd and annoying as G. Leon might seem, the guy is very honest. He has and will throw himself under the bus if he has to, because, quite frankly, he doesn't care. He has personally pointed out to me and others when he was in the wrong.

Even with all this crap going on, Greg still speaks highly of Jin. It's not exactly his fault that she'll hold a grudge any time someone so much as sneezes in the wrong direction.
