CANCUN, Mexico (March 3, 2008) – Two-time World Boxing Association heavyweight champion John “The Quietmanâ€￾ Ruiz (42-7-1, 29 KOs), rated No. 3 by the WBA and No. 5 by the WBC, fights veteran Jameel “Big Timeâ€￾ McCline this Saturday night on the Oleg Maskaev-Samuel Peter card in Cancun, Mexico.

Ruiz, who broke Las Vegas-based training camp Sunday and flew to Cancun with his head trainer, Manny Siaca, Sr., has positioned himself for one last title run and a win Saturday against McCline will put him in line to challenge in the WBC and WBA.

The WBC means waiting for Klitschko to fight the Maskaev-Peter winner, the WBA means probably fighting the winner of Chagaev-Valuev II.

It could be a bit of a wait for Ruiz.

With Chagaev last pathetic performance, John Ruiz is currently the biggest threat to Wlad

I'm not sure about that, BUT anyone who allows MATT SKELTON to tee off with unanswered uppercuts to the chin has plenty left to prove, to say the least...
