I am currently in Japan on business travel and got to see this fight live. It was a draw - 115-114, 113-115, 114-114. So Naito keeps the belt. I had it 116-113 for Wonjongkam. Could see 115-113 but I thought Pong won clear...Naito gets alot of credit for being active and unorthodox shots. It was in Tokyo, so Pong had to win one-sidedly - at least - to take the belt as Naito has gotten quite popular. Pong had Naito buzzed, rocked and tired in the last rounds....to his credit, Disuke kept on punching and staying active and did catch Pong with right hands and left hooks to the body...enough to stay in it. Peace.
Well, he got popular when he beat Pong the first time - right in Japan. But yeah, beating Daiki Kameda got him more popularity - and largely unmerited, since Daiki isn't nearly as good as Koki. Pong did look past his prime (he's very old by flyweight standards - not only 30 yrs. old, but with 71 fights which is a huge amount at any weight, let alone the lower classes). He waited alot to get off and looked slow and not as crisp or quick as in the past. His reflexes weren't quite there to seize openings. He also looked like he overtrained and/or had to cut weight quite a bit as he looked very defined and dry. Despite all that, I thought he did enough to beat Naito - who, by the way, is quite annoying to watch. :: Peace.
Naito has some fucking awesome hair styles though. You can't take that away from him. It's worth at least 7 rounds every time he fights in Japan.
