Los Angeles, CA (March 11, 2008) – Anybody who thinks that veteran boxer Rubin “Mr. Hollywood†Williams will be the slightest bit intimidated when he takes on Bay Area and U.S. Olympic hero and undefeated super middleweight Andre Ward in front of a packed house of Ward’s loyal fans at San Jose’s HP Pavilion on Thursday night, March 20, had better think again. <!-- m -->http://fightbeat.com/news_details.php?NW=21298
the effects of williams being shot is apparent when he's working the heavybag. ward should take care of biz easily or else he's another bust.
Sure, the PACE of Andre Ward's Career has Been UNDERwhelming thus Far, but this IS a Step Up... Ward was Impressive N his Last Fight vs. Cantrell & Williams just Fought Allan Green, a WORLD Ranked Supermiddle, N his Last Bout... Williams is GAME if Nathan Else, so he WON'T B Easily Discouraged or Intimidated... REED
Rubin said similar things before his fight with Green. I expect him to be blown out in 5 rounds and that's by careful Andre Ward.
Dre is gone take his time and pepper the hell out of Williams. Even if he wasn't shot; Dre is too fast with hands and feet for him to do well. TKO 7.
It has been slow, though according to the reports he was close to fighting Green earlier this year. That would have been a great step up. Williams is just a moderate step up. It's the best name he'll have fought, though he's still viewed as an opponent coming in to lose. Regardless, I think Ward has one of the best, most skilled left hands in the sport. His right hand is pretty much a slap, but watching him box with his left hand is an absolute pleasure to watch.
