I don't see a thread on this...interesting matchup don't ya think? Glad they made this fight....been wanting to see it for years.
I lost the last ounce of respect I had for the fighter Zab Judah, when I heard that he lost to David Diaz twice. :: ::
Steward said Diaz beat Judah twice in the amateurs. At least I considered Zab to be the king of the three round fight, but losing amateur fights to Diaz. :shit:
Hmm...I dunno, it certainly doesn't mean as much now as it might have when Judah still had some relevance. Mosley is diminished but even then, he should get past Zab without controversy. For some reason, I don't see this as being more than just an ok fight entertainment-wise
That's as irrelevant as Zab Judah beating Spinks who beat Mayorga who beat Forrest who beat mosley. Let's drop the shit and analyze this fight! :kick:
IMO it's gonna look like the Zab fight against Cotto, where he's gonna land that straight left and counter uppercut and stun Mosley early, but later on Mosley breaks Judah down with some nice body shots and basically takes a pummeling.
Shane Mosley: "I really wanted a rematch with Cotto, and thought it might happen, but Judah is trying to make a name for himself and get back. He was down at Golden Boy’s offices pleading for a fight, so we did it.â€
Agreed. It appears there's a decent ppv undercard for this, but I don't think it's enough for me to really look forward to the event or want to buy it. Ponce De Leon-Caballero and Barrios-Juarez are good match-ups, but the main event isn't really an impactful fight. Mosley wants Cotto or Mayweather, Judah just wants to stay relevent.
Sure! Here's the discussion: Judah will hit Mosley. Mosley will take it. Mosley will hit Judah. Again. Again. Judah will fall. End of discussion. ::
I'm sort of looking forward to it, because I like Mosley, but it's not a particularly interesting fight. I think it's gone, the notion that Judah may beat so and so if he turns up focused etc. It's pretty obvious by now, that Judah is simply not destined to beat an A class fighter.
I think this is when Zab finaly gets over the hump and wins a big time fight. Shane isn't getting any younger and contrary to popular belief Zab could box a little. Shane cannot seem to be able to handle a man with movement and a decent jab. Although I just thought of his fight with Callazo and he looked good but Callazo pivots more than he does the side to side which Zab is good at. I do feel like this could be Zabs night to build up a big early lead then hang on to win a decision over a lunging over-extended headhunting Mosely.
the last time Zab Judah won a meaningful fight was.... Shane Mosley is coming off a... And this shit is pay per view?
thats about right but you missed this after judah falls: Judah will get up. Judah will do a little dance. Judah will fall down again.
Man when Zab came into his office pleading and shit Mosley should have just hit that little trap door button that opens up beneath Zab's feet and gets rid of him. Who wants to see this crap? By the way, do you think G really has a trap door button in their offices? If not I would have rescheduled a meeting with the Judah's, had a few installed and ejected his whole fucking family. I would have considered filling the bottom with a shark infested pool.
People always raise theoretically valid points for a Judah win against an A class fighter, but it never happens.
Zab is a good fighter. But thats it. People have been fooled for YEARS by his physical talent, ignoring the fact that boxing isn't just about how good you can look at times inside the ring. It's about winning. Results. Big fight success. Zab Judah has never had this and people to this day wonder why. He's just not any better than good. Mosley is.
