Instead of wlad using his patented "jab pat" he used on ibragimov, he could use it on judahs head for the chicken dance KO
Agreed. And it's hard for some people accept. Like a lottery pick that tested out to have all the athletic talent, but after drafting him you find he's deficient in other areas. Judah's had a good career for most fighters. Just not one's hyped up to be "Pernell Whitaker with power".
Yup, completely agreed. I was reading an old copy of The Ring's annual 100 best fighters...from 2000 or 2001, I think. Judah was considered a top 12 fighter, even then (and in front of Tszyu), at a point where his signature win was Terron fucking Millet. It's been a long saga of trickery with this guy.
So you don't think Zab can build an early lead and cruise? Mosely can't come from behind, he turns into a one punch zombie. Shane hates a fighter with good movement, don't you think Floyd Sr. and Zab know this shit and will come out boxing? Also Shane is a sucker for uppercuts and Zab throws nice shots underneath. I like Zab to put it all together on fight night and embarass Shane into retirement where he belongs.
Do you, by any chance, dislike Shane? :: Bro...since when has Judah been able to outbox an elite-level opponent - who has very fast hands, hits hard, and can box himself? And most importantly - is willing to come forward and pressure Judah consistently? Mosley very, very quick feet - and he KNOWS how to cut off the ring. Despite his movement, Zab can be relatively easy to catch and pressure at these levels....and sometimes even against inferior opposition. Too many holes, too many lapses. Mosley is too strong, too powerful, too "hard" for Zab. Judah will likely have some early success with some jabs and stinging left hands....he may even make Mosley a bit hesitant early. But Mosley will catch up. Shane can get dispirited when he doesn't have success early or when his opponent takes everything he has and just keeps coming. Neither of those will be the case vs. Judah. You are discounting Shane's right hand....it will be GLUED to southpaw Judah's head ALL night. That right hand will be anathema, will spell doom for Yabba-Zabba-Doo. And Mosley did just fine surging late against a young Cotto - a Cotto who boxes better, is stronger, and is more skilled and fundamentally sound than Judah ever will be. Speed, fancy quick footwork and occasional straight lefts or "dazzling flurries" do not take the place of sound fundamentals, true technical skill and most importantly, focus & concentration. I dunno, bro - I just don't see it. Even against an older Mosely. Peace.
I love how Judah continues to preach this shit about Mosley left 135 because of him. The same stupid shit that Floyd still says whenever Shane's naeme is brought up. I'd love to get these 2 morons in the same room and let them discuss which one of them Shane ran screaming from the fastest. Judah's pulling out all the stops this time. Begged for the fight, hired Mayweather Sr, has G.Leon on his team who's supposed to get him some tips from Forrest & Winky. So if Judah still loses he needs to just retire, or he can follow the Mayorga career plan by accepting cash to put his name on other fighters resume's in the lost section. Maybe he's already starting that plan now.
Zab's talent will outspeed and outfast Shane, especially if the real Zab shows up, nobody can out-talent his fastness, Shane can't throw as quick as Zab, meaning Zab will land first, and if the real Zab shows up, he'll land first all the time.
Barristan - no offense, but what you said has become SUCH a cliché. "He'll put it all together against so and so". People say this EVERYTIME. Judah IS very talented, and sometimes can even be fun to watch. But like Tam says, it's all about results, and Judah has only got a good result once, against Spinks. And spinks is not even an A class fighter really. Judah just doesn't have the "it" factor and mental fortitude that's going to win him a fight against someone like Mosley, and it's been proven a fair few times now.
I think if Zab is trained by Kevin Rooney, he'll start training properly again, regain his desire to ascend to the top of the welterweight division, we'll start to see the old Zab :cheer:
Mosley HAS to be the favourite in this one, and favoured to stop him....given the history and accomplishments of the two...BUT...the Sly One has a feeling that Shane will lose this fight. First time ever that Shane will be facing a fighter that is faster than him. Couple that with the fact that Judah is a southpaw, hits very hard and Shane is far more hittable these days...and we have the makings of an upset. Not to mention Zab showed against both Mayweather and Cotto...that he's not as fragile as people like to make out. Shane doesn't hit as hard as or apply the same pressure as young Miguel Cotto. I wont make an official prediction yet...but this has the makings of an upset... As as you know, you disagree with The Sly One at your peril!!
Not true, since moving up frm Light weight I confidently picked Shane against... Rivera, Wise, De La Hoya (First Fight), Diaz, Taylor and Stone, Vargas, Estada, Collazo... So stick these where the sun don't shine...:flip:
Another scholar is in the house. Zab's going to embarass Shane and retire his ass. Floyd Sr. is going to have Zab boxing and moving to an early lead then hes going ride it out to a decision.
Shane will either stop him late, or win a UD. Both guys have declined, but neither one is yet shot so it should be a good one. Shane will win because he's mentally stronger, and just a better fighter.
Sly picked against Mosley.... huge surprise! You've reached an all time low in Shane hatred when you pick Zab over him. I'm traditionally more of a Zab fan than a Mosley fan(as all know) but I cant envision anyway Zab takes this one. Mosley will tap that ass, and I'm willing to sig bet you on it!
I haven't made a pick yet, as already mentioned, so not yet ready for the sig bet. But you're CRAZY if you think this is a foregone conclusion for Shane. Zab will appear much faster than Shane in this fight and will hit harder. Of course the more rounds go by the more Zab will fade, but don't underestimate the damage that Zab can do to the hittable Shane in those early rounds.
Shane was in Houston on business for Golden Boy Prmotions week before last looking for sparring partners as well.
He was looking for left handers than can give him rounds, LOK. Sure, I'd like to go a couple of rounds with him, but I probably couldn't. Well, at least I probably couldn't, you being a Superman, I'm sure you could give him all he wanted.
