I'm amazed at how little this fight has been discussed... who's gonna win? I'm picking Katsidis TKO 8. He's too strong, and active for old man Assa.

I hate that this fight is even happening. I think Cassa could pull out a decision.

I hope Katsidis wins by KO.

I'm tempted to Pick Katsidis by stoppage. But my gut feeling is this will go to the cards after Casa's dirty ass cuts him up with headbutts.

Katsidis is "Known" for a Couple ACTION Fights...Strength & Activity IS NOT Enough to Overcome the SKILL, CRAFT, COUNTERPUNCHING & Willingness to Do ANYTHING to Win, that Casamayor has...

Katsidis Cuts EASILY & Casamayor has NEVER Been Shy about PURPOSELY Butting an Opponent...

Casamayor WON'T Look as BAD as he Did N his Last Bout...He'll Dial it Up 1 Last Time & UNANIMOUSLY Outpoint Katsidis...

Quite possible but Casamayor isn't getting any younger. This is a fight where his age an inactivity could certainly all catch up with him.

    Casa UD.

He won't get KO'd, and he can't lose on the cards.

the powers that be won't allow Casa to win. they just won't. it would be too bad for the sport if he were to win. Katsidis will most likely win in legitimate fashion, but he'll win nontheless if he can't.

i think Casamayor will surprise people here

....he looked terrible in his last fight, but he has been like that in the past....and then when the big fight comes about he tends to bring his A game...

Casamayor certainly gives away youth to Katsidis....but hunger will be decisive. If Casamayor has put in the prep, physically and mentally, then i think he has too skill for Katsidis, who his yet to prove himself as anything other than strong and gutsy

    Casamayor KO 9

Casamayor wins by TKO on a cut caused by a punch. I'll say rounds 8-10.

Casamayor was coming off a long layoff going into his last fight,so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and pick Joel by TKO because of cuts.

More like was. Casa should have losses to Kid Diamond and Jose Santa Cruz both. Old Casa handles both of those cats with ease.

I'm a big fan of Michael Katsidis, and I sense a changing of the guard here.
The younger Casa would probably be far too wily, elusive and classy for the 'come forward and rumble' style that Kats will bring to him.

But I agree with those who say that THIS Casa isn't the same guy as that seen previously. Moreover, I think Kats will know a number of important things, namely that he can't realistically win if this one goes to the cards, that there is an EXCELLENT chance that Casa will try to bust his fragile skin open and that the best plan of action is steady, controlled, power-packed aggression aimed at slowing Casa right down as the fight goes on and making the target for his undeniable trump card, his power, a lot, lot easier to hit.

IMO, if Kats can force the action and make Casa fight at his pace, he can wear the old champion out down the stretch and press home an advantage as the fight draws to a close.

    Katsidis TKO 10

Youre wrong, strength and activity IS enough to overcome Casamayor.

And whats purposely butting Katsidis going to do besides lose Casamayor points and cut Katsidis and since Mick cuts "easily" and still hasnt lost a fight yet so it shouldnt affect him too much.

The typical Australian fighter, you've gotta love him, he has no skills, is gutsy, has power, and is as one dimensional as you could possibly be, goodluck to my favourite midget and compatriot, my heart shall thump with Aussie pride as he loses a lopsided decision, because that's the way we make em', and that's the way we like em'.

Good summation. Although one punch can change the fight.

I hope Kat's punishes Casa's body with nearly absurd frequency.

I'm honestly want to drop a good bet on Joel winning by cut. I wonder if any place will offer odds on that.

Please let Katsidis win, but I have a feeling Casamayor will headbutt his way to another close decision. Katsidis is gonna have to put Casamayor on his ass to win.
