Alex Arthur faces the toughest test of his career when he tackles Joan Guzman on May 3 - but is backing massive Edinburgh support to ensure he is victorious.

The Scotsman challenges Guzman for the full WBO super-featherweight title, and knows he has got his work cut out against one of the best fighters in the world.

Yes, I'm sorry to say that he is. Arthur is badly over matched here...

Another defeat for one of Warren's fighters.

Guzman is gonna school Arthur in a onesided fight.

I hate Guzman, but Arthur is really not very good.

    Guzman wins easily.

What's up with Werren recently? This is fairly uncharacteristic of him no? Matching up a few of his boxers with world class fighters in their prime?

    What's up Frunk?

 yeah seriously, it's weird, don't you think Val?

Recently the only championship fight Werren must have been confident about is the Calzaghe one.

Also, it beggars belief that Fana is a world title holder.

The barrera fight  It's amazing that Fana lasted as long as he did.

It is. A lot of times they can get South Africans to come to Britain as well. Surprises me they didn;t gun for Fana, he's the only titleist I think Arthur can beat. Shit, I just watched his last fight last night and he was getting hit a ton and struggled like hell to beat Foster. Guzman is so much more talented he might even get a stoppage. :eeeek:

The only upset possible in this fight, is if Guzman makes weight and turns up to fight.

Fana would have a good chance at beating Arthur. Alex Arthur is just not that good.

Alex Arthur would hit Fana at some point though, rendering a possible win, a loss.

Alex isn't good though. You are right.

I was thinking the same thing.

Within 6 weeks of each other, Werren has thrown Enzo and Alex to the wolves, is risking Joe against Hopkins (even though I think Joe will win, it still is a big risk for a Werren fighter) and I'd be surprised if Rees still has his title come Sunday morning.

Next thing you know he'll have signed Khan-Campbell...

    ...or perhaps not

Why do you always type 'Werren'?

I stole it from MWS, and it is apparently a reference to the SO forum closure incident.

Also, I find it amusing in my own little way

According to MWS (and confirmed by others in the Seconds Out thread), Frank Warren was the reason why that forum was shut down. As ex employee pitched up slagging Warren off left and right and so he threatened legal action and they (SO) in turn closed down the forums.

In what I presumed to be an amusing way of slagging off Frank with actually, directly doing so, MWS types 'Frunk Werren' whenever he refers to him in a post. I shamelessly lifted that habit because I thought it quite humorous.

    Suitably clarified, Tam?

you couldn't type "Frank Warren" into a post because it would come out ***** ****** so thats where the "Wank Warren" "Frunk Werren" came from
