Me either but as soon as you turn on the subtitles and read it with him you start wondering how come you couldn't understand it before. Of course once you cut them off again it turns back into french.

By the way I agree that Snatch was waaayyy better and I seriously doubt it had anything to do with which one you saw first. Snatch had better actors, better script, better humor and a bigger budget. That in itself should lead to it being better even though it's mostly opininated.

I saw it today as well. Good movie but fucking stupid ending.

I already knew that was everyone's opinion on the movie so I knew it was coming.

I just saw "The Clash Live: Revolution Rock" at an independent film festival. If you like the Clash you will like this. It's mostly live performances put together with small documentary interjections throughout it.

    1408 - 5.5/10
Premise - Basically this guy goes around disproving haunted houses and he believes in nothing. Later in the movie he finds out how real evil is when he gets trapped in hotel room 1408 by the evil spirits he's supposed to be disproving.

Story Background - This movie came from one of Stephen Kings short stories. Needless to say after watching the movie I had to go to that book to try to get some answers which I didn't find.

Critique - The movie started out well enough. It got pretty good when he finally gets to the hotel and Sam is warning him about how bad the room is. Also when he's in the room some of the first hauntings he experiences are good and made my heart jump a couple times. But after a while the story just gets dumb and sinks fast without ever coming up for air with an ending that left me confused.

Reason it Fails - It should be fairly obvious. Once they ran out of the parts of the story King wrote, they had to fill in more to make the movie longer than 30 minutes and this is why it turned to shit.

    Rewatchability - 3/5

I watched The Many Deaths of Ian Stone, Lake Dead, Borderlands, and Unearthed. Of the four, only The Many Deaths of Ian Stone was worth watching.

    Doomsday-- 6/10

It was a combination of 28 weeks/days later, I am Legend, Robin Hood, Excalibur, and believe it or not Waterworld all in one.

It starts off somber and I think the writer/director realized how assinine the storyline was so they just made it gory/goofy.

The main girl is smoking hot!:bears: She's responsible for 4.5 out of the 6 rating I gave it!

Rewatchability 8/10--only if you watch it with someone who hasn't watched them and watch their reactions to it:lol:

Beowulf - I don't understand why they didn't just make the movie live-action and film everything on a blue screen like they did with 300. The CGI was impressive, but its still not quite there. The characters had no emotion in their eyes and they looked aloof at times.

The story itself was a little too slow for my liking (I "read" the book in highschool so I'm not quite sure how true it stayed to the story) and the dialogue was painfully bad at times. It's a decent CGI showcase, but other than that it doesn't really have much replay value. 4/10

    American Gangster
    - Great acting and great story! Definitely a movie where they placed substance over style, so if you're expecting shit getting blown up or people getting mown down, this movie is not for you. The only I would have liked would have been more screen time shared between Crowe and Denzel (they were literally shared around 15 minutes of screen time). 9/10

    Shoot Em Up -
The exact opposite of American Gangster - style over substance. Cheezy action scenes with cheezy one liners. The movie was an all around cheese fest. I didn't even finish the movie so I'm not going to rate it. If you're into this sorta thing check it out, but it really is just 2 hours of mindless bullshit.

    Gone Baby Gone....

Loved it....ALMOST predictable, but it still had me in suspense....Casey Afflecks character was great...Really evokes some emotions....Kinda felt a little like Mystic River...

well, considering it is based on a different book of the author of Mystic River, and is set in Boston, it's not really shocking.
