“I was supposed to fight Castillo, but he decided to fight Montiel. That should have been my win. I hope my promoter can get me a big fight because I am ready to challenge Israel Vazquez at 122 pounds by the end of the year.†With that statement, Beltran prompted nearby Sean Gibbons of Sycuan Ringside Promotions, who happens to be Vazquez’s promoter. “Absolutely,†was the response given by Gibbons, which made the charismatic Arce hoot and holler in approval http://www.fightnewsextra.com/cc/FIGHTS2008/03-latinfury.htm I like Arce but this is a carreer ending fight for him. :eeeek:
are those two the only flyweights in the world?:dunno: by the way Donaire needs to fight someone worth a damn before people forget about his win over Darchynian. As populated as 115 that's where he should be gunning for. I would pick Montiel over him and Mijares though. Arce and Darchynian is the fight they both should look for. I still think it's a great match up even now. Neither guy has to worry about finding each other.
Arce hasn't beaten a fighter of Darchinyan's caliber so how do you expect him to beat Montiel who is bigger and better? You simply don't know much about boxing.
Not a chance. Vic was supremely overrated, Nonito is just better. He would bash the fuck out of him again in a rematch. Oh and Vazquez V Arce would be hilarious, but certainly not pretty. Arce would get smashed up bad.
Exactly, that's really the last fight you'd want to call a fluke. Not only was he winning, he was winning quite easily.
Maldonado fought Mijares to a draw like two years ago. How was that not a good win for Donaire? I agree the Hussein fight doesn't really need to be made, it'll add another name to his resume but he's certainly not what he was.
when did I say he would beat Montiel? you simply don't know how to read :: I said Montiel will beat either mijares or Nonito at 115:warning: Arce and vic are about the same as far as talent and accomplishments. difference is Arce is a bigger draw which is why he is still relevant in fights.
They should really just make Vic-Arce. They were talking that fight up when they champions, but I think it's actually somewhat more intriguing now that they're both ex-champions. Loser leaves town so to speak.
The biggest reason is hasn't been made was the lawsuit between Arum and Shaw. I wonder if that's over or if it's still going on. :dunno:
TERRIBLE Mismatch... Vasquez is BIGGER, STRONGER, TOUGHER, has Better SKILLS, Hits HARDER...LITERALLY, Vasquez has EVERY Advantage... Not Only will Vasquez Have his Way w/Arce, he'll even SHOVE that Lollipop Up his Ass Afterwards.... REED
unlike you boxers are not my heroes.:: I've always liked Montiel and have been saying for years he would beat Castillo. I would pick him over Mijares and Nonito who I considered the next best fighters below 118
No, he won't. Vic landed some of his best shots on Nonito - few and far between because Donaire used his feet well, but Vic DID land them. Donaire just came on...and was tagging Darchynian clean, repeatedly. Remember, Nonito is big - he came DOWN to flyweight. He's faster, bigger, boxes better, and has underrated power. Vic won't want to see Donaire again, I think. Peace.
