I always like to stick some tapes in before I go out on the lash. Beats weekend TV. Favourites to watch 1. Roberto Duran 2. James Toney 3. Nicolino Loche 4. Julio Cesar Chavez 5. Pernel Whitaker 6. Mike McCallum 7. Mike Tyson 8. Salvador Sanchez 9. Joe Louis T. Tommy Hearns. list yours, bell ends.
(In no particular order) Nigel Benn Cassius Clay ("His momma called him Clay, so I'm gonna call him Clay!" ::) Naseem Hamed Manny Pac George Foreman Herol Graham Mike McCallum Some good, some great but all very watchable for a variety of reasons. Perfect pre-alehouse fodder... MTF
The fighters I rewatch the most are Lennox Wlad Hearns Ali Hamed Vitali Pryor Hopkins It could be that I am forgetting someone
:: @ Aaron's last post....that was funny. But true - Hearns is great to watch. Mine: Alexis Arguello Mike McCallum Salvador Sanchez Finito Lopez Tommy Hearns Marvin Hagler John Conteh Archie Moore Bob Foster Joe Louis Felix Trinidad M.A. Barrera Erik Morales Lehlo Ledwaba Cornelius Boza Edwards Matsushiko "Fighting" Harada Jose Angel Napoles Azumah Nelson J.M. Felix Trinidad Alexis Arguello Thomas Hearns Ray Mancini Arturo Gatti Miguel Cotto Diego Corrales Joel Casamayor Hector Camacho-before he turn
Yeah, & if Any of that Paint Drips onto Tommy's Chin, he's Going to SLEEP... Utterly Entertaining... REED
For REED there's 1 that Stands APART from the Rest & his Name is Aaron Pryor...REED Can Watch Practically ANY of his Pre-Retirement Bouts ANYTIME, & B Entertained... Others, N No Particular Order Roy Jones Tommy Hearns YOUNG George Foreman Sonny Liston Wilfredo Gomez Manny Pac Arturo Gatti Cassius Clay Crusier & Early Heavyweight Holyfield Mike Tyson Naseem Hamed REED
:: Instigator. Hearns wasn't THAT china-chinned...that gets exaggerated. But yeah, that's part of the excitement....but it's really his offense and aggression that are awesome to watch. Peace.
True... Tommy Wasn't Augie Sanchez, Jason Litzau or Junior Jones, but he WAS Pretty Damned VULNERABLE N the Whiskers... @ Best, REED Would Rate Tommy's Chin a "C"...His POWER, SPEED & BOXING Ability were all "A's", but his Chin was AVERAGE @ the Very Best...Perhaps even SLIGHTLY Below Average... REED
Agreed. Offensive fighters with sub par chins are always entertaining to watch. Tommy Morrison, Terry Norris and to a lesser extent Rafael Marquez. All fun to watch.
Troy Dorsey. You knew anytime Dorsey fought, by a minute into the first round, he'd be covered in blood with one of his eyeballs hanging from it's socket. TFK
Personally, these are some of the fighters I'd say have the LEAST rewatch value. All made great fights on the night because there was tons of drama and action but when you already know the result that doesn't really make a fight more rewatchable to me. Watching a fight live is like being in a club - some exciting, high tempo, basic music is great - rewatching a fight is more like putting a record on at home - I want something more interesting I can get my teeth into. :bears: I can never rewatch Gatti-Ward for instance I get bored as fuck after 90 seconds and reach for a Sweet Pea tape.::
I prefer the fights to the fighters, if I come in late after being out I'll stick on a fight or two inevitably...last weekend I watched Holyfield-Cooper, Brown-Trice and Pacquaio-Marquez 2. Agreed with hut hut though, Ward-Gatti is low on the list of fights I'd watch-I'd put it alongside Muriqi-Ahmad, a fun fight that doesn't have much rewatchability value. Am sure plenty disagree though.
Tommy Hearns Diego Corrales Mike Tyson Aaron Pryor Terry Norris (terrible is right) Vinny Paz Roy Jones Jr. Matthew Saad Muhammad Ricardo Mayorga Arturo Gatti Manny Pacquaio the list can really go on forever.
