It's hard to fault Smoger, he's a good character aswell as a good ref, but I must say, Vic Draklulich is pretty sharp, to date, he seems to be the only referee who's managed to pinpoint Fraud's elbow, and penalise it accordingly.

Anybody think B-Hop MIGHT even stop Calzaghe late?

If the fight goes B-Hops way, he will be starting to push Calzaghe back in the later rounds and punish him. Could get a stoppage. It's got to be worth some small cash on B-Hop stopping cal in the last 4 rounds. Probably 100/1 on each round.

I think Cortez is definately past his prime but he is not shot either.

I think Bayless and Smoger are the best. Guys like Nady are still pretty good.

The problem is that we don't see a new crop of refs or Judges. on every big fight is the same people working as refs or judging fights.

I think Cortez has been pretty poor for the past few years.

He's gotten a lot of attention for his work of the Mayweather-Hatton fight but he's done worse in other recent fights. He stood there and almost let Paul Williams kill Santos Pakau before finally stopping it. He let Ike Quartey use Carlos Bojorquez's head as target practice to the point where even Larry Merchant wanted the fight stopped. Then Cortez finally decides to stop it with a minute left. His work in Hopkins-Allen 3 was bad.

Actually whenever I see Cortez in a fight nowadays, I expect him to make at least one big error or just be mediocre-to-poor all throughout the fight.

Fair but dead is much funnier. Simple and to the point.

I'm surprised me and Tam were the only ones who found it funny.

It was hilarious, the funniest thing from you in a while actually.

The last time Hopkins had a knockout was the De La Hoya fight. And that was in 2004. Since then he has failed to stop Eastman, Taylor 2X, Tarver, and Wright. I tend to feel that if those guys went 12, then Calzaghe is not likely to get stopped against Hopkins.

Quite simply that it's the wittiest line you've come up with in a while :dunno:
