Petre with the kids games. How typical.

"OH YEAH! Well I don't respect you!"

I always argue rationally. Notice how my threads don't turn into 30 page piss fests?

I always stay on track on a discussion. I'm not the guy who on one day says, "They won't look at a candidates policies, they look at stupid stuff that mean nothing," and then you whip out this business about his pastor. That's called being a hypocrite.

So now I can't understand english? That's a new one.

Prove me wrong, then. Nobody agrees with you.

And again, your respect means absolutely nothing to me.

Obama’s Former Pastor Getting $1.6M Home in Retirement

    <!-- No Summary --> by FOXNews.com

    By Jeff Goldblatt
This was supposed to be the week that the Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr. returned to the pulpit to preach for the first time since his anti-American sermons generated nationwide outrage and drew condemnation from his longtime parishioner, Barack Obama.

But, citing security concerns, Wright canceled his speaking engagements in Florida and Texas. A spokeswoman at his former church in Chicago said his schedule is pending.

A two-week FOX News investigation, however, has uncovered where Wright will be spending a good deal of his timein retirement, and it is a far cry from the impoverished Chicago streets where the preacher led his ministry for 36 years.

FOX News has uncovered documents that indicate Wright is about to move to a 10,340-square-foot, four-bedroom home in suburban Chicago, currently under construction in a gated community.

While it is not uncommon for an accomplished clergyman to live in luxury, Wright’s retirement residence is raising some questions.

“Some people think deals like this are hypocritical. Jeremiah Wright himself criticizes people from the pulpit for middle classism, for too much materialism,†said Andrew Walsh, Associate Director of the Leonard E. Greenberg Center for the Study of Religion in Public Life with Trinity College in Hartford, Conn.

“So he’s entitled to be tweaked here. So the question really is, how unusual is this? Somewhat unusual,†he said.

According to documents obtained from the Cook County Register of Deeds, Wright purchased two empty lots in Tinley Park, Ill., from Chicago restaurant chain owner Kenny Lewis for $345,000 in 2004.

Documents show Wright sold the property to his church, Trinity United, in December 2006, with the proceeds going to a living trust shared with his wife, Ramah.

The sale price for the land was just under $308,000, about $40,000 less than Wright’s original purchase two years earlier.

Public records of the sale show Trinity initially obtained a $10 million bank loan to purchase the property and build a new house on the land.

But further investigation with tax and real estate attorneys showed that the church had actually secured a $1.6 million mortgage for the home purchase, and attached a $10 million line of credit, for reasons unspecified in the paperwork.

There is apparently nothing wrong with that, according to non-profit tax expert Jack Siegel of Charity Governance Consulting, who examined public documents FOX News obtained from the Cook County Register of Deeds and the Village of Tinley Park.

“At least looking at it from a public document standpoint, there’s clearly not a problem that jumps out or some sort of wrongdoing,†Siegel said.

Siegel characterizes the transaction as unusual, however, because of the way Wright sold the property to Trinity and the way the deal was financed, with the attached $10 million line of credit.

Because churches are classified as private businesses, Trinity isn’t required to reveal its intended use for the line of credit. Nor, because it’s a non-profit entity, is it required to provide that information to the IRS.

A spokesman for ShoreBank, the Chicago-based financial institution that secured mortgages for the loans, said the deals were aboveboard.

Wright did not respond to repeated calls for comment, and Trinity United refused to discuss the specifics of the home it is building for him and the way the deal was financed.

Obama Suggests He Would Have Left His Church If Wright Had Not Retired

<!-- No Summary --> by Associated Press
    Thursday, March 27, 2008

WASHINGTON — White House hopeful Barack Obama suggests he would have left his Chicago church had his longtime pastor, whose fiery anti-American comments about U.S. foreign policy and race relations threatened Obama’s campaign, not stepped down.

“Had the reverend not retired, and had he not acknowledged that what he had said had deeply offended people and were inappropriate and mischaracterized what I believe is the greatness of this country, for all its flaws, then I wouldn’t have felt comfortable staying at the church,†Obama said Thursday during a taping of the ABC talk show, “The View.†The interview will be broadcast Friday.

In his sermons over the years, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright has railed against the United States and accused it of bringing on the Sept. 11 attacks by spreading terrorism. He also has said the government invented AIDS to destroy “people of color†and has shouted “God damn America†for its treatment of minorities.

Videos of his remarks circulated on the Internet and on television.

In an attempt to quiet the controversy, Obama gave a speech last week in which he sharply condemned Wright’s remarks but did not repudiate him.
Obama said Wednesday he has spoken with Wright, who retired from Trinity United Church of Christ last month but remains as a senior pastor.

Hillary Rodham Clinton, Obama’s rival for the Democratic presidential nomination, broke her silence on the matter Tuesday, saying she would have parted company with a pastor who spoke about the country the way Wright has.

Rev. Wright Apologizes to Rich, White 'Jesus Killers'

by Scott Ott for ScrappleFace · 93 Comments

(2008-03-21) — The Rev. Jeremiah Wright, today attempted to quell the furor over his racially-charged preaching by apologizing to “rich, white peopleâ€, whom he had blamed for killing Jesus, and noting that “if Jesus was a poor, black man, then so was his betrayer, Judas Iscariot, as well as the poor, black Jewish mob that called on the rich, white Roman governor to have Jesus crucified.â€

“Like my spiritual nephew, Barack Obama, I’m all about getting past racism and division,†said the Rev. Wright at a Good Friday church service in Chicago. “I used to preach smack on the rich, white Jesus killers, but this week I realized that his followers were from the same ethnic group he was. So were his enemies in the mob at Jerusalem shouting ‘Crucify him!’â€

He just now realized that huh ...

Angry Salaco spewing insults ... you've changed

I'm guessing you like that fraud Obama. Or maybe you approve of his phoney Reverend Wright preaching hate on rich whitey and letting the church that takes money from poor blacks that buy his bullshit build him a $1.6 million home.

Or perhaps you buy Obama's , I'd have left if he stayed schtick ? Maybe you think using a crook like Pritzker as his campaign finance is a good call.

Or maybe .... Ahhhh what am I arguing with a bitch for ? :dunno:

I must say , I do find it funny that a guy from Ireland feels the need to comment on when an American thinks poorly of a candidate for President. Just goes to show you haven't learned a lesson yet either.

Relax old boy, I'm bored and I know you're incapable of ignoring a perceived slight. Anyhoo, as you well know, the impact of the US presidency does reach considerably beyond the the 52 states, which gives me plenty of leeway to comment on the different electoral issues.

Petre realizes Ron Paul is finished in 2008. He isn't slamming Obama because of Ron Paul. He's slamming Obama because he genuinely feels he would be a poor leader.

However, that also means he's endorsing McCain in a circuitous manner.

sean hannity also feels this way but that doesn't mean he (like pastre) isn't anything but a mindless partisan hack.

pastre is also taking a page from the bill o'reilly book of "no spin" by tossing out a couple words feining equal disdain for mccain. pastre spends an inordinate amount of time attacking obama and next to none attacking billary and mcsame. sorry pastre...your true feelings are ringing out loud and clear. if pastre's next 10 topics or 100 postings are on either billary or mcsame then phonetap may start giving him the benefit of the doubt...

Because nobody here is showing the support for McCain or Hillary that people are for Obama. If people were making endless claims about how good Hillary or McCain would be, I'm sure there would be as many negative posts about them as there are Obama.

The blind loyalty Obama's supporters show in the face of the numerous reasons why he would be a terrible president is disturbing.

Says the dumbass that still can't give a good reason to vote for a guy for PRESIDENT of THE USA beyond he's mixed like me so I can relate to him and he has charisma.

Guys like you are precisely why we're in the mess we are in this country and why it's so easy to fill a video full of retards that can't give a clue about the cadidate they support.

As for Hillary or McCain ... I've made my opinion clear. Why you shouldn't vote for Hillary is not an issue because I don't argue with morons and McCain is another terrible choice , but as sad as this is , he's the best of the three.

3 bowls of shit ... he stinks the least. GREAT.

well unlike the idiots that have attacked what his relatives/pastor/advisors/etc. said, I do my best to actually listento the candidates themselves as they answer questions and have positions on things.

We wil have to choose between Obama and McCain.

One is a flaming racist who said we'll be in Iraq for 100 years, who has gone from saying the christian right is evil, to kissing their ass the last 18 months.

The other has been against the war from square one. Has a plan for universal health care, has said that ending the war in a timely fashion is a top priority, and who isn't taking in lobbyist money.

McCain went from supporting a campaign finance reform bill back when he had dignity, to taking every dime the neo-con's can offer, while simultaneously backtracking on his previous disgust with special interest.

You can flame, and post videos all you want about what an awful hypocrite the guy speaking change and diplomacy for foreign affairs is. But in the end this year we'll have a chance to choose between 4 more years of the same policies, and a chance at a new direction to get this economy and world-standing out of the shitter.

I have pointed out many serious problems with supporting Obama. I challenged his supporters to give me a reason to vote for him and defend him . They could not. Hell they can't even give a good reason why THEY will vote for him that is relevant to running the USA as it's president.

no, you have pointed out rumors/speculation/spin and drivel from people whose job it is to talk shit on someone with a clean record.

I've given you plenty, here and in another thread. And whether you like it or not, the choice every american will have is between McCain and Obama. So everytime you talk down about Barack you are acknowledging that you'd rather have 4 more years of Bushie policies rather than even consider the possibility of someone different. You'd rather have someone who claims the war in Iraq will go on for another 100 years rather than someone who has said it will be a priority to get us out.

Frankly, its crap like what you've posted thats whats wrong with american politics. Every rumor, every glitch and people who are looking for an excuse to dislike someone grab something and run with it. Why not be mature and look at the reality, rather than posting shit about his reverend, or his link to an islamic school, or whatever.

Its indecent, and irresponsible what the Obama haters have flung at him, and I would expect that kind of crap from I and I, but not someone who considers themselves educated or has any interest in actual politics.

Actually it's more like the Obama supporters who have ignored facts, truth and common sense.

    Plenty of buzzwords.

Don't be surprised if Clinton steals it. It can, and just might, happen. And by steal, I mean that in the literal sense of the word.

The mistake is assuming 'different' is better. And how much 'different' will Obama really be? Not nearly as much as the Kool-Aid Drinkers believe.

I'd rather someone who is honest about our staying there, then someone who will lie about leaving to win an election, then will not get us out of there. Open your eyes. Even if Obama wins, we're not leaving Iraq. Bank on it.

There's a lot more wrong with American Politics then that.

The irony of an Obama supporter asking to look at reality is mind numbing. The Obama camp is the one living in a fantasy land, refusing to look at the reality of things. They're too caught up in buzzwords and false promises to see what Obama really is...or isn't.

That's all part of politics and has been going on forever. Right or wrong, that's just the way it is. And what's happening to Obama is no different then what's happened to others.

    TFK
