is coming soon.... Sauerland revealed that after the June 21 date Abraham is expected to make his mandatory defence in Germany in September. "In December or January Arthur will then take on Kelly Pavlik in the States," the manager added. I can't wait
So it will be Abraham/Miranda II in America. Although there is a small chance, he might not fight Miranda, but Jermain Taylor. opcorn:
They won't throw him there with Miranda, they don't want another broken jaw. Plus Miranda can't make weight anymore. I think they will look for a decent but soft middleweight, or a shot name like William Joppy. Taylor is moving up too.
Who said the fight would be at middleweight? :dunno: It will likely be a catchweight fight, since Abraham struggles with weight as well. Abraham doesn´t have the household name in America to fight a tomato can, especially if they want to set up Abraham/Pavlik. And to be quite honest, I don´t think Miranda is a tough fight from a pure boxing standpoint. The biggest obstacle will be mental.
catchweights are for one of two scenarios: 1- The fighter is desperate for money and will agree to the catchweight no matter what. 2- It's a big fight and the fighter agrees to a catchweight because he's gonna get paid well. Abraham is not in one of those scenarios. usually the catchweight is dictated by the champion, not the challenger. Miranda will always be a threat to Abraham. He punches too hard, and Abraham is not difficult to hit clean. Plus, a previously broken jaw takes some out of you.
Not if Arab-ham makes it worth his while he's not. You think old dooby cheeks would knock back a cool mil?

Pretty much. He was basically done by the Hopkins fight, and should'be been done by the Taylor fight. From the reports I read, he got beaten up - as expected - by Bute. He's so shot, Duran should ask for a rematch.
