I don't think Dela is really all that fake. He's had a hugely succesful career and he is happy about it, and it shows.

Hell I don't even think Floyd is all that fake.. he's extremely immature and it shows too ..

Both guys have not lived "normal" lives, yet there personalities are being compared to the norm

I 100% believe that story VargASS told about the time they were both training up in Big Bear and Fernando fell in a snowbank and asked Oscar (who was jogging past) to help out,but Oscar laughed at him and continued running.

Now I think VargASS was one of the biggest punk asses in boxing,but I completely believe that Oscar did that:: That is definatley something he would do.

 

ODh is "calculating", but he doesn't sit around figuring out to fool people? Isn't that a bit contradictory?

I think the thing that differentiates the two in my mind is that DLH's been in the spotlight from the beginning of his career. He's obviously been "coached up" so to speak, but most of his "fakeness" isn't all that dissimilar from a number ofother pro athletes and celebrities.

It may be different because there aren't that many boxers that are as "fake" but then there aren't many that have had the opportunity make as much as he has, or in fact made as much as he has.

Mayweather's a completely different case. His "fakeness" goes well beyond just potraying a clean public image. Part of it is he just craves attention. ("Daddy issues"?)

The joke of "Money" Mayweather is that if DLH wanted to compare bankrolls with him or any fighter, he easily could.

 

If one of my buddies fell in a snowbank and asked me to help him out, a world class athlete at that, I'd laugh my ass off at him too

 

calculating doesn't necessarily mean fake...de la hoya is measured with the things he does. we ALL are...does that make ALL of us fake?

floyd just isn't all there psychologically...phonetap puts him in a class with the terrell owens and ron artest's of the world. floyd has a bunch of conflicting emotions he has never come to grips with...that's his problem.

Oscar is more fake because he actually wants people to believe that he's Mother Teresa and that he's this all around great guy and loves everyone and its so far from the truth.


My brother was in New York for the pre fight press conference with Floyd and Oscar. Floyd actually stayed and signed everything whereas Oscar left and didn't sign anything.

Floyd puts up this bad boy image in front of the cameras but he actually cares about the fans, whereas Oscar because he knows he's a big draw does'nt give a fuck about any of them.

Floyd is more of a regular guy, with his flaws and all whereas Oscar is very isolated and indifferent towards everyone, yet in front of the cameras he portrays himself as the good guy with his fake smile trying to keep this image of a down to earth Mexican American who's still from the block.


Its pretty obvious who's more fake.
