Exactly. Most people who don't appreciate the wrestling and submission are people who don't understand any of what's going on. TFK
mma has only been sanctioned for what, like under 15 years? Boxing has been around for over a century. The fighters and fights will only get better as the sport evolves and the talent pool increases.
 Are you serious? Look how quickly people are to boo a wrestling match a lot of times at these events.
alot of those people arent real fans....ever been to a football game and hear the rediculous shit the guy next to you talk about how the backup quaterback is ten times better than the started... believe me, i dont like wrestling matches in mma, but just cuz a bunch of drunks in the crowd are booing, it doesnt make it shit.... and heres the other thing....a boring mma fight usually only lasts 15 minutes, whereas boxing is at LEAST twice that
...... So is there any real supposed real fans at these events then? It's not like it's just a few people who boo:dunno:
fuck it.....a boring fight is a boring fight.....period.....the most boring fight i've ever seen was arlovski vs silvia III and that fucker never left the feet
I played Golf 1 time and struggled just to hit the ball. I appreciate that Pro Golfers are great Golf players. It is still boring to watch.
They don't always boo ground fighting. They boo Lay and Pray. I wouldn't expect you to know the difference. TFK
Lay and Pray is ground fighting. I wouldn't expect you to know the difference between ground fighting and stand up fighting.
If you don't like MMA go back to the boxing forum. Why come in here and start a fucking argument over which is a better sport? There were some damn good fights last night, talk about those, this isn't a debate about boxing.
Exactly. People have no idea what they are looking at and just see a couple guys rolling around on the ground. I appreciate a good technical ground battle. Karo vs Nick Diaz for example was a great technical ground fight.
Indeed it was. And it was better than the main event actually. But it was still basically a world class playground fight.
If that's what you think about Karo vs Diaz you have no clue. That was a really technical fight and there was nothing playground about it.
mma's (ufc's in particular) adventage over boxing is that they consistently put on more stacked cards than boxing. Last night's card was great because every single fight was a 50-50 fight (or close to it) where you couldn't say with any certainty who would win.
Add to that the fact that on any given night anyone can beat anyone. Also there are a lot less sheltered prospects in MMA than there are in boxing. You can have a guy with 30 fights who never fought a top guy in boxing. That is not the case in MMA. If you've had 30 fights, you have most likely fought some top opponents. These guys aren't as protected as boxers are. Boxing is more business where as MMA is more fan friendly.
i dont think he knows what fight you're talking about....I think he thinks you're talking about a fight from last night
  It's people claiming that MMA was better than boxing who started this, not some Boxing elitist
Yep exactly, it wasn't me or RJ who started saying boxing was better first. You fucking twat Z. Sort it out.
Laying on top of a guy is ground fighting. Keeping a guy on his back is obviously what the guy on top is trying to do in a lay and pray situation. To do it one guys back is on the GROUND and the other guy is on top keeping him there. It is ground fighting and it is boring ground fighting.
In retrospect, the Karo fight seems one-sided. But in reality it was a evenly contested bout up until the big knee landed. And really, I think that's my preference to MMA over Boxing. There is a far better chance that the bout will end in a dramatic, decisive manner despite being an even matchup. Whether it's a TKO via brutal knee, KO via superman punch, or submission via an armbar, there is a much greater chance that things can end at any moment in MMA as compared to boxing. I mean, damn, did you see the brutal knees that Matt Hammil endured before finally winning? You just don't get that type of action in 2 rounds on a boxing undercard on free TV in the middle of the week.
