I was there for Carlos today, had a great time, great food and terrific fighters, Diaz, Juan Lazcano, Vanes Martirosyan, Ronnie Shields, Adam Richards, Dub Huntley..and Richard Schaeffer and Oliver Luck were present with Mr. Savannah.

Diaz seems like a cool guy, Golden Boy should take care of him now and get him high profile fights. But they should let him mature a little bit before getting him in there with the likes of Pacquiao and/or Marquez if he decides to move up.

Juan is going to be fighting Joel Casamayor here in Houston July 29th or September 13th which will be televised by HBO.

 

Campbell will be bitching and moaning about casamayor opting to fight diaz. I hope Diaz come prepared to withstand Casamayor's dirty tactics and manage to impose his own pace. Let's hope shields can work the corner that night.

LOL, wouldn't that be just great if Diaz beat Casa. Then some can say Diaz is the champion of the division or whatever despte Campbell having beaten him REAL recently. :doh:

BTW- If Diaz thought Campbell was dirty he hasn't seen anything yet.

Future Plans

He's the main person, in fact I was bending down a bit and leaning forward to get him in the shot better from that angle as there were fifty people waiting in line to get pictures.
According to Savannah, as long as Nate Campbell is associated with Don King, that fight will not happen again, so Nate will probably scream for it, but Nate is permanently out as they have put that behind them and are moving forward wiith major marquee names, albeit some may be faded, but still too much money, particularly with the Latin community here.
This was a major press conference in terms of food, I can tell you guys that much.
Fried fish and shrimp, grilled shrimp, crabs, salads and frutis, cold drinks, dessert, rice with shrimp, you name it, some bucks were shelled out for this.
They (Savannah and Diaz) are looking at huge money here with Golden Boy with Casamayor first, probably Barrera next.
According to Richard: with Hopkins, Mosley, and Oscar nearing the end of their great careers, Juan Diaz is going to be the future flagship of the organization with his non-stop action, charisma, ability to communicate with the masses, educational background and future, you all know the deal, these were Richard's words.
