Who said they even have to have a third person in the booth?

Rewatch Barrera-Morales 1. Two man booth works best...

Yeah, they've had a couple like that. Ibeabuchi-Tua is another.

The fewer voices and less talking the better, IMO.

Then the next round, Evander almost KO'd Bowe.

Foreman had another good one during DLH-Quartey.

Merchant: Oscar's not doing much of anything.

Foreman: Uhh, not much is a lot for Oscar De La Hoya. Not much IS a lot!

Foreman's man-crush on Oscar was too much.

I'll take that a step further:

Who said they even have to have a SECOND person in the booth?

People watch boxing (and sporting events in general) for the action itself, not to hear what other people think about it. The less talk, the better IMO.

Reminds me of the time ESPN Classic aired Douglas-Tyson w/out any broadcasters...other than the ring announcements it was just what was picked up on the mics.

    Best commentating I ever heard.

Plenty of new fans (which the sport needs right now) have little idea of whats going on in there. Strip away commentary with some option on digital cable, or mute it yourself. Don't do it for everyone, because I'd dare say you're in the most minor of minorities.

there is another one.. remembed Holy-Tyson.. ?

someone there, I think it was Ferdie says "First sighns of Wear.. on Holy.. REAL signs:" and BOOM Holy landed a blow on Mike that sent him across the ring:lol:

During Tyson-Botha, Ferdie also went "Mike can't get off punches, that is the mark of a shot fighter".

Then right when he said that, Tyson took him out with a right hand.

Ferdie's best line during that fight was "Whenever Mike tries to throw punches, he's being suffocated by this mountain of white flesh".

I am beginning to like Max now.
He had a great moment in the post fight interview with Casamayor when Luis De Cubas was interpreting and Lus yelled "I told him to sit down on his punches and knock htis guy out or they were gonna rob us like they did three times before!", and Kellerman looked at him and said "You win some robberies, you lose some robberies!" and Luis turned away, referring to the Santa Cruz fight in which Joel lost 9 rounds of that particular fight.

Can't say i agree. I can't stand telecasts with "Colonel" Bod Sheridan as the lone voice.
