:: :: :: Baron usually does a pretty good job of seeming like a fluent English speaker, that's what makes this sentence funny.
"Is there any basis to the rumours that Curry and Griffith are gay?" Or... "On what basis is it rumoured that Curry and Griffith are gay?"

It was no secret in boxing circles which way Griffith swung in his private life, and nobody really cared either as Emile was such a great Champion and great gentleman, it was not an issue.
Thanks Stinger. I heard that a lot of times but I didn't know if it was generally accepted or if it was only a rumor. What about Don Curry?
I don't know about Curry, Baron. But according to my good friend Ron Lipton who sparred with Griffith, Carlos Ortiz, and Hurricane Carter..Griffith and his companion Luis I think his name is are very content, and are working on getting Emile to the Virgin Islands in a permanent Statesman fashion or something there similar. Griffith was truly one of the Greatest Fighters Ever. A Six Time World Champion.:bears:
I remember a ridiculous stat about Emile Griffith. Something thats never going to be repeated. In his one hundred and twelve fight career, he faced an inhuman amount of top ten ranked fighters, at a variety of weights. All up, FIFTY FIVE PERCENT of his fights, involved ranked opponents. It trumps Ezzard Charles, Muhammad Ali, Ray Robinson, Willie Pep, Carlos Monzon...all of them. Thats ridiculous.
I knew he was up there along with the ones you mentioned...those are pretty much the best resumes of all time. But I had no idea...55%. That's just unreal. Peace.
Yeah, when I came across it a few years ago I was shocked as hell. I always thought Charles had the greatest resume of all-time (kinda still do, cos he's only a few % points behind, plus he has all those nasty heavyweights/light heavyweights on there) but more than half your fights against ranked opponets....over the course of 112 fights? GTFOH!
