Idiocracy

Nice concept and some idea's (re: sarcasm) and I don't mind Mike Judge....but the movie fucken sucked. Not funny, aside from the odd "I like money" remark.

Mr. Woodcock: 2.5/10 Some unfunny shit....other than the first few minutes when Billy Bob is bullying the gym kids...:dunno:..Billy Bob was great in BAD SANTA...and was aight in school of scoundrels...and the other guy was GREAT in the american pie movies as STIFLER..but he has sucked in every elses sinc.e.......




I Am Legend: 7/10, good STUFF, not alot of actions, for most of the movie it's only WILL SMITH..and his dog. Very creepy......good atmosphere...i like it when he sets the TRAP to catch one of the infected....then the next day the infected people catch him in a similar trap...:crafty:.BUT WHY DIDN'T he do what he do at the end? :dunno: why not just throw that shit at them...





The Mist: 6.5/10 A few citizens of a small town are hold up at the local supermarket as the mist outside is full blood thirsty creators ready to rip them apart......THE ENDING very fucked UP....I LOVE what happen to the JOE KING character in the movie......

Probably Morgan Freemans' finest acting I've seen. That alone makes the movie watchable. But for the most part,for it's type of genre,it wasn't really thrilling at all,and the very end was predictable when you finally realized whats going on.

I heard this movie was pretty funny. Based on the trailer and the fact that it was the same people who made Dodgeball I gave it a try.

It's pretty crappy. I wouldn't watch it again.:doh:

 

CHARLIE BARTLETT - 4/10

PREMISE - A young rich kid acts up in private school gets kicked out and sent to a public school where he continues to act up in a similar way. This leads to him being popular and beloved at school.

CRITIQUE - The movie wasn't funny or realistic at all. It also wasn't really about a kid who gave advice to his peers like advertised. I mean he did that but what he really did was sell them prescription medication for their problems.

PURPOSE - More proof that Hollywood is just out to make a buck. They mentioned so many prescription meds you'd have thought it was a commercial. Plus there is no way they attempted to make a good movie here, but like most crap they just wanted to make a buck.

REDEMING FACTOR - The young love interest chick really helped you maintain your interest. However, I would have cut this one off in the middle of it if my wife hadn't vetoed the idea.

Rewatchability - 1.5/5

 

30 Days of Night

WTF Illu, this was a load of total fuck. "Instant classic"? I see you editted your post in the last couple of days. Wise move.

This was a hell of a dissapointment. The characters were typical retard horror cliches and the vampires? WTF was their purpose? Why did they turn up? What were they trying to achieve? Why did the dogs get the chop first?

I thought it was an ok-ish horror pic. Presumably, (a) purpose was to feed (b) They turned up due to absence of daylight and hence free feeding (c) see (a) (d) So that they couldn't escape via huskies? or maybe so that guard dogs wouldn't be able to provide warning?

LIONS FOR LAMBS - 7.5/10

PREMISE - Story centers around 3 smaller stories. A politician discusses his new plan for winning the war in Afghanastan to a reporter who questions past plans & doubts the results of the present one. A college professor discusses politics with one of his students who has lost hope in the political system. And the team sent into Afghanastan loses 2 soldiers on a mountain and try to get them back before they're killed.

CRITIQUE - This is a verbal drama that flashes from one story to the next, keeping you on your toes. Honestly, the best parts are with the politician/reporter and the soldiers. In fact some of you might find this movie boring. If you like hearing political discusion about the last 6 years of war then you might enjoy this movie but the soldier scenes won't be enough to hold the interst of those who don't.

CASTING CRITIQUES - I'm a big fan of the acting abilities of Cruise but here he seemed out of place and didn't seem to nail the character like usual. Maybe he figured if Hollywood is going to halfass why shouldn't he. Anyway I figure Steep would have done a better job of playing the tough politician and Cruise should have been the intimidated reporter, and oddly enough Streep almost seemed out of place too seeing as how I'm so used to her as a badass confident type. Also if they were planning to have a boring conversation (professor/student), they should have casted Clonney instead of Redford. That way it may have been boring but at least it would have sounded cool.

Rewatchability - 3/5

THERE WILL BE BLOOD 9.5 The movie by itself is very good, but Daniel Day Lewis much deserved Academy Award performance here makes it great. The story of a ruthless oil baron who stops at nothing to become the owner of all the lands near his precious oil wells. And he can't stand competition of any form from no one. He hates to see other people succeed. In fact he hates people, except for his adopted son, and he treats him like crap sometimes. And unwillingly he himself creates his worst enemy in the person of a teenager religious preacher who is as ruthless as himself trying to succeed as the town's prophet. This is a great movie with a shocking ending. The tour de force performance by Daniel Day Lewis makes you root for this cruel man.


NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN 9.0 Very good movie, but not the Best Picture of the Year IMO. THERE WILL BE BLOOD was a better drama. This is more an action thriller. Javier Barden was truly creepy here as the sadistic bloodthirsty hitman chasing the Josh Brolin character and his bag of stolen drug cash. This movie could had been much better if Tommy Lee Jones character wasn't in it. Why? Because apparently he had no reason to be in the movie at all, except for the "old man' reference in the title. I mean, you can edit all his scenes and it will no make a dent to the plot! Still very entertaining, but you can get up and prepare a snack or go to the restroom everytime Tommy Lee Jones shows up. You will not miss anything.

Dan In Real Life: 2.5/10 sucks, unfunny....Carell is a widower father of 3 girls...goes to a family weekend reunion meets the women of his life at a book store...but she happens to be his brother new girlfriend.......

WE OWN THE NIGHT

SCORE - C

PREMISE - J. Phoenix is a night club owner who hangs with drug dealers. His brother Walhberg and father are cops and ask his help to catch a top drug dealer. Situations arise in which he must make a choice to stick with his current lifestyle or no longer deny the family career lineage of policeman.

CRITIQUE - Wasn't a bad movie but was a bit slow. Kind of reminded me of the departed only it wasn't nearly similar if that makes any sense.

Rewatchability - 3/5



THE KINGDOM

SCORE - B-

PREMISE - Insurgents shoot and blow up an american military bases baseball game. FBI agent Jamie Foxx and his team want to investigate but have to much political red tape in the way. Long story short they get the okay and learn to work with and bond with the iraqi police force who escort them around looking for the bad guys.

CRITIQUE - This movie was pretty good and moved at a decent pace. There was decent dialogue but the action sequences is what really keeps the show going here. I think it gets vilified to much but overall it wasn't that bad for what it was, a political action flick masquerading as a drama.

Rewatchability - 4/5

Aliens vs. Predator Requiem: 3/10 It's SHIT...took for ever for the movie to get going...and then when it did..it was still wasnt very good......everything was dark...most of the times you can't see the aliens.....more lights would've help a bit......what i did like was that the Aliens were brutal bastards...everyone got it...little kids....the pretty bitch hoe...the pregnant ladies at the hospital...:clap::clap:

I saw it for the first time yesterday. It is the worst movie that i've ever had the displeasure of enduring.

What a pile of shit this is. To make things worse it's also so fucking LONG. The only thing worse than a terrible movie is a LONG terrible movie.

Damn if only they made this worthless puddle of diarrhea one hour and 15 minutes then I wouldn't complain so much.

Yes it's terrible but at least it's short I could say. But fuck this shit is two and a half hours long!
