Question for the people that really believe this.

Everytime Cotto gets asked who he wants to fight, he says the same thing......

"I will fight whoever my company wants/tells me to fight"

When did Top Rank ever want or try to set up a fight between Mayweather and Cotto?

If Floyd fights again, and it's not against Cotto, then he is ducking him.

Cotto really represents the last meaningful and legitimate challenge for Floyd.

It certainly looks like he is.

Cotto is the undisputable No1 challenger to Floyd at 147, the division in which Floyd is supposed to ply his trade and where he is the champion. Yet Floyd continues to chase paydays/rematches against retired promoters and 140-lbers.

Even Floyd's most hardcore fans must surely be aggrieved by this state of affairs? I mean, if Floyd fought and beat Cotto, then any arguments as to his status as 'the man' would effectively end in an instant. Instead, he continues to abuse a loyal fanbase by chasing meaningless (and in Hatton's case, wholly unnecessary) rematches to further line his pockets. :dunno:

Floyd is really a 140lb'der and should fight at 140

Cotto is a dangerous fight, Floyd would win but it's dangerous for sure. Cotto seems to be scared of FLoyd

Nah, it's the other way around actually, Cotto ducked Fraud, on the account of Arum claiming that his Puerto Rican jewell is "Not ready yet"........Arum did offer another member of his stable however,.......:crafty:

Yeah, Cotto ducked Fraud like Margarita ducked Cotto to lose to his sparring partner, right?

If Floyd wants to silence his naysayers, then he should fight Cotto. IMO Cotto is the most legitimate threat to Floyd's P4P supremacy.

:dunno: I just stated the truth, Arum prohibited Cotto from facing Fraud, and Cotto simply shrugged his shoulders and went 'ok'. I'm not saying Cotto is personally scared of Fraud.

 After Cotto's 5th round TKO win, Bob Arum was asked by a reporter what he thought Mayweather might think about the Puerto Rican powerhouse now. His response drew laughter at the post-fight press conference. "Mayweather sat at home and watched the HBO doubleheader of the knockouts by Cotto and Margarito. And then he probably signed on to a flight to Mars."

Fact of the matter is, Cotto never dismissed a fight with Floyd, while Floyd has dismissed a fight with Cotto. Mayweather gave 4 or 5 ridiculous reasons why the fight wouldn't happen on ESPN a few weeks ago. And last year when asked about a potential fight with Cotto, he said he was taking the next two years off to rest and promote. A few weeks later he talking about going MMA, then shortly after the Wrestling shit came about. Now he's talking rematches with De La Hoya and Mayweather. :dunno:

I see, I never knew of this latest saga, but I expect when inevitabley the various recruiting teams for the entertainment industries begin to regret having employed Fraud, he's going to be shut out from all avenues availing him to the public eye, because frankly, he's a dumb, narcisstic arsehole who aint celebrity material  , and the rest of the world will come to know this too, it's then I expect Fraud to start stalking the lucrative Cotto for a payday the way he did Gatti, and hopefully, Arum allows it, and hopefully it wont be 10 years down the track.

I really hope everybody boycotts another piece of sh*t pointless fight between Floyd and DLH. The first was a complete joke. No reason why there should even be a rematch between 'dead legs' and the 'tip tapper'. Just trying to rip off the public.

I'm not worried about who Floyd is or is not ducking. So far this year has been great, and Cotto/Margarito just adds to it.

I don't think either is "afraid".

In Mayweather's case, all he's after these days are big paydays. Its why the rematch with Oscar is happening.

In Cotto's case, he's just a strange fighter who doesn't call out anybody. I guess thats what rubs people the wrong way with him. Seems to lack the true passion and competitive spirit, but he's a machine in the ring. I think its a possible tactic on Cotto's part to let everyone know he's not worried about Mayweather.

Mayweather's the man at 147, bottomline. And if Mayweather's claims about Bob Arum being unable to do business with him are true, then its Cotto who needs to talk to his promoter and tell him "Get me Mayweather, I don't care when, just make the fight happen."

Gentlemen, Floyd doesn't need to chase Cotto. Its the other way around. Back in the 90s, EVERYBODY and their mother chased Oscar, and rightfully so. He was the man at one point, and he brought the biggest career purses any fighter ever saw. If Cotto wants to be the best, he needs to prove it against Mayweather. Floyd has been on top of the moutain for years, beating the top fighters at 130 all the way up to 147. Ultimately, both guys would have a bit of a void if they didn't fight one another, but Cotto needs it more than Mayweather.

Funny that he is trashing Floyd because the way Arum wants to match up Pavlik makes me think Pavlik is on that exact flight.

When has Top Rank aka the company like Cotto wants to call them ever tried to contact Floyd regarding a fight.

If they had contacted Floyd or ever tried to make the fight, Arum would tell anybody that would listen. AKA the Margarito situation.

So right now if you look at the facts, it looks like neither of these guys is real interested in fighting each other anytime soon.

My problem with the situation is that Floyd gets anywhere from 80%-100% of the blame. The reality of the situation is it is more 50%-50%.

Yes he did. Too bad Baldomir would beat the shit out of Gomez if they ever were to fight.

Of course I think he can hang with Baldomir. He might not be able to beat him but if you think Baldomir is anything more than a tough and rugged contender, basically a B level fighter, you're completely deluded by your nuthuggery. Gomez was in there with an elite fighter saturday, that's why he looked like a bum. Against Baldomir, he'd certainly win rounds and have his moments.

If Baldomir is a B level fighter then Gomez is like D/E level right?

Baldomir beat Judah. Judah would blast Gomez real easy.

Gomez is a B level fighter too, maybe slightly less. Baldomir isn't an elite fighter, get that in your head. These fighters beat guys like Gomez but can also be beaten by guys like Gomez. Both of them were equally impressive against Gatti. I'd pick Baldomir, but you're making it sound like Baldomir is a world class PFPder, probably because your hero spent 12 rounds with him. We all know that's all you have in mind.

If you think Gomez would do anything more than just "hang" with Baldo you're kidding yourself.
