Now we know why the panther is an endangered species. A mere kitten has just chased Edison "La Pantera" Miranda up a tree. The "kitten" is former and future world super middleweight champion Mikkel Kessler. To put it in boxing language, Leon Margules, head of Seminole Warriors Boxing has just informed HBO executives that he is "not interested" in having Miranda fight former WBA and WBC champion Kessler on June 21 despite the fact that Kessler readily agreed to holding the fight for the soon to be vacated WBA super middleweight title at the Warriors Arena in Hollywood, Florida. <!-- m -->http://fightbeat.com/news_details.php?NW=21459
Ah shut the fuck up, responding to a media war against warriors is the worst thing you can possibly do  .
So you'd rather see Kessler fight a guy he's already beat? I wouldn't. Do you give Mundine any chance? I don't.
I can't BELIEVE people would rather see this than Kessler - Miranda. I really can't. I mean this is no better than Marge - Cintron 2, it was a foregone conclusion. Mundine has no chance at all, he is not beating kessler and we all know it. So what's the point in that fight? It's nothing to get excited about, and what's more the fight itself is going to be fairly boring. With Miranda, sure Kessler almost certainly wins, but you never know with an aggressive puncher, he always has some chance. And it should at least make for a better fight than Mundine.
It's not about rather seeing this fight or that. I watched Wright-Mosley II, even though I saw little way for Mosley to win the fight. Mundine is a higher ranked super middleweight, and he's earned that distinction. Miranda hasn't earned anything at that weight. He hasn't proven anything at 168. He lost to two middleweight champions...what's this great desire to see him fight the first or second best super middleweight, without having fought any of the other top fighters in the class? I'd like to see Miranda fight Andrade before he fights Kessler. If all you want is an exciting fight, why not call for that fight and let Kessler fight a more proven elite super middle?
Well, it doesn't matter because Miranda apparently doesn't want to fight in Kesslers home state of FLORIDA. ::
If there's accuracy to what Marley said, then it sure doesn't say much for Warrior's. Kessler's agent, Michael Marley, confirmed what Palle said. "It was Mogens and Bettina (Palle, Kessler's manager) who made all the concessions here. It was the Palles who got Kessler accepted as the official WBA challenger. It was the Palles who lobbied for Miranda as a worthy Number 2 challenger behind only Mikkel in the WBA ratings. WBA President Gilberto Mendoza Jr. and his team did everything they could to make this highly-anticipated fight a reality. So did Lou DiBella. At the end, the bitter end, it was Margules who pulled the plug. I guess that's sadly appropriate since it was Leon who kept reneging on the terms and conditions for the Showtime deal. Now he's burned Showtime in one month and HBO in the next. I just wonder if Pantera and his co-managers know what's been going on."
I don't know about you but for me that is EXACTLY what it's about. As a fan of boxing, why would I not want to see the most exciting fights?
I prefer to see skill first. But if you're strictly talking about excitement, you think Kessler-Miranda would be more exciting than Andrade-Miranda?
He´s lobbying for Miranda to be his opponent for a vacant belt in Miranda´s hometown. That must be the nicest way to say: You ain´t shit to me. :: :: I guess it is all about the belt to Kessler, and he doesn´t care, where or against whom it is coming.
