Who hates Lennox Lewis the most?

Of course, I'm wondering if either you don't, or you haven't worked out the maths. The law of dimishing returns is why I changed the size differential from 30 pounds to 17.

Because boxing is divided into WEIGHT classes, not intelligence classes, vision classes, or calf diameter classes.

 

I don't think you understand what I mean. You seem to think that a 13,6 % (that's about the proportion you used in your example) will always favor you the same way. I disagreed with that.

 

It's nitpicking, they would certainly favour you to a similar level.

 

I don't think it's nitpicking. I just think you overstate Lewis' weight advantage when likening his matchup against Holyfield to Mosley vs. Pacquiao. If you think it's that unfair, would you be in favor of splitting the heavyweight division to form a superheavy division?

Explain why there is a SIGNIFICANT difference between the approximately 12% bodyweight advantage that Lewis had over Holyfield, compared to the 12% advantage that Mosley would hold over Pacman today?

LOK sure does hate 'Lummox Loser', and has stated on these very pages that a Prime Herbie Hide is one of quite a number of bums who he would have favoured to knock Lennox out BUT at least he posts with tongue in cheek and is honest and generally a good guy.

First, heavyweights don't have to cut weight, smaller fighters do. I also think it is reasonnable to presume a fighter at a higher weight cuts more weight than a lighter one. Thefore, the size diffenrential between a 130 pounder and a 147 pounder, is more than 17 pounds in reality. Second, passed a certain size size can become a disadvantage because it affects usefull abilities such as footspeed and handspeed. Also, the punching power you gain from weight really drop drastically passed a certain weight. And there's only so much a chin can take, take a bomb from a 220 pounds fighter or one from a 250 fighter and the result will likely be the same, you'd get knocked out. Some guys also have a hard time putting all their weight behind their punches, see Valuev for example. So technique plays a huge role here, no matter how big you are, and to add to that, bigger guys tend to have a hard time developing these type of skills.

 

Right, but you're talking about people like Valuev, and my example is Lewis Vs a 215 pound holyfield.

Lewis was certainly not oversized, just a very big heavyweight. At 6'5, with a perfectly balanced build, he was fairly quick and athletic for a big man. Similar to how Wlad's handspeed defies his 6'6 frame.

So my comparison is spot on, and perfectly valid.

Lewis was 12% bigger than Holyfield and fought like a bitch, Mosley is 12% bigger than pacman, and if the 2 fought and mosley fought like a scared bitch, you would never hear the last of it.

Actually mex, if Pac came up to fight Shane, Pac's power would not be much of an issue at all. Holyfield's power would be an issue against Lewis. There's more of a strength/size difference between Pac/Mosley than there would be between Holyfield/Lewis regardless of what the weight scale and height chart tell you. And Holyfield was a muscled 220lbs and had been fighting as a heavyweight for more than a decade before meeting Lewis. He was very settled in. It's not a similar case to Pacquiao moving up a few weight classes to meet Shane who has fought bigger and stronger punchers.
Your example is not a good one IMO. Although I still agree with you to a degree that Lewis could've imposed himself more. But then again, which bigger man ever had his way with Holyfield in any fight? Even Bowe had to fight his ass off and even almost got KTFO in one of their meetings with 1 punch.
Holyfield also took Mike Tyson's hardest punch to the jaw and shook it off like nothing. Holyfield put Mercer to his knee with a left hook. I think you underrate Holyfield, bro. The guy was "Hard as F*ck" as a heavyweight.::
