a famous dominican sports writer published a book about the best latino boxers of all time, and according to his book, this is the top 24 Los mejores 24 1. Roberto Durán PAN 2. Carlos Monzón ARG 3. Julio César Chávez MEX 4. Alexis Argüello NIC 5. Wilfredo Gómez PUR 6. Antonio Cervantes COL 7. Miguel Canto MEX 8. Salvador Sánchez MEX 9. Oscar de la Hoya MEX 10. José Nápoles CUB 11. Félix Trinidad PUR 12. Ricardo López MEX 13. Kid Gavilán CUB 14. Kid Chocolate CUB 15. Carlos Zárate MEX 16. Eusebio Pedroza PAN 17. Raúl Olivares MEX 18. Marco Antonio Barrera MEX 19. Esteban de Jesús PUR 20. Erik Morales MEX 21. Rodrigo Valdez COL 22. Pascual Pérez ARG 23. Wilfred BenÃtez PUR 24. Miguel Cotto PUR thoughts? I think Oscar de la Hoya is too high on the list, and Cotto haven't accomplished anything to be regarded as an all time anything :dunno:
I think the Dela position is about right then again I would, but I agree about Cotto he still has a lot to do and for him to be only a few places behind Morales is strange.
casamayor is also more accomplished than cotto. cotto has about what, 2 real significant wins in his career?
I guess they didn't consider Brazilian to be Latino. I'm not sure as I've heard and read different opinions on this.
It's Monzon number 1, Napoles number 2 and then everyone else. Olivares should be top ten without a doubt.
No respect for Benitez he is damn near last on that list. He is better than at lest half that list
Very good list. I'd have Sanchez, Napoles and Lopez higher though. All above Gomez, Cervantes & Cato for sure.
