FightBeat Exclusive - We've just learned that John Duddy has decided to make a major change in his training camp. According to our sources, Don Turner has been relieved of his duties as head trainer for Duddy. Team Duddy has selected Pat Burns, Jermain Taylor's former trainer, as the new man in charge. Duddy had started working with Turner prior to his match with Dupre Strickland. He had spent a week with Don Turner in North Carolina. Duddy later made the switch from his former trainer, Harry Keitt, to Don Turner but media experts felt the results weren't impressive. Obviously Team Duddy agrees. Pat Burns was the man who guided forer Middleweight Champion Jermain Taylor to the world title and an unprecedented two victories over the legendary Bernard Hopkins. Whether Duddy-Burns will be a good matchup remaints to be seen. But with Duddy losing his big chance to fight Kelly Pavlik for a world title due to cuts, we believe Duddy will spend the next year focussing on learning and improving his overall skills under the guidance of Burns and then hopefully challenge for a world title in 2009.
