...that 4 months ago, he was all over Ricky Hatton like white-on-rice (holding, clinching, etc)....yet last night, he let Bernard Hopkins hold throughout the full 12 rounds.

Maybe he learnt his lesson or....maybe it's something else?

    Calzaghe isn't a pom, though.

Calzaghe did a ton of holding... more than Hopkins.

I'm serious. He would throw a few wide slaps and consistently hold with his lead (right) hand.

I thought Calzaghe clearly won, and I'm also probably the most objective boxing poster on this site. :dunno:

Mustard does it anger you that you can't look at a boxing match and see it as clearly as I do? Like, are you angry that you aren't quite on my level?

I'lm gonna go back and re-watch the fight....with sound turned off....but I'm pretty sure Hopkins was 'King Holder' in that fight....

    He wasn't, but that's cool.

I expected him to be. Hopkins is cancer on the eyes, but Joe was happy to hold on the inside tonight.

Everyone has their opinions on watching a fight, scoring it, etc.
Some folks go with the CompuBox numbers, some go by aggression, some go by in-fighting, harder blows landed, etc....

I'm just messing with you. I really don't care... the right guy got the decision, and that's enough for me.

joe was happy with fighting and holding on the inside as Hopkins owned him on the outside

plus Calzaghe was the much bigger and stronger fighter

Cortez was how I expected him to be in Floyd-Hatton: he let BOTH guys away with a lot of clinching/holding, rough tactics with the heads and ball shots.

Hatton has said that Cortez's face went off the chart when the UK 'fans' booed the US anthem before his fight with PBF, and he thinks as a result of that Cortez gave him zip. There might be some merit to that, judging by the fact that Calzaghe and Hopkins held about FIVE times more than he did and neither got a point taken off.

Either that, or he is just an erratic, egotistical fuck face... :dunno:

Um, Nard held every every right hand he threw, and sometimes even when he didn't throw. He initiated far, far more grabs than Calzaghe.

Compubox was shit last night. Joe didn't land half as many shots as they gave him credit for. He still won though. Damn, it's frustrating being a Bernard fan lately. Does just enough to lose. Reminds me of my days as a Marlon Starling fan.

Sloppy/Slappy made it too easy for Bernard to hold/grab/clinch. Bernard should have let his hands go on the inside more instead of clinching though. He seemed to have success doing that early in the fight and got away from that.

    both guys are at fault

hopkins with his single right hands followed by his head falling into the clinch

and calzaghe with his allowing of it

he would have been very much helped by taking a step back when hopkins lunged in and throwing a uppercut as hopkins head was down

That means you must have counted every punch thrown - can you tell us what your count was compared with CompuBox's? :dunno:
