He lost in his own back yard and now he's crying like a girl, thats a sore loser.

And there is no doubt he was trying to con the ref....that's hardly champion behavior.

So if RJJ is able to beat Calzaghe, does that mean he is no longer "shot", as we heard over and over from his fans after the losses to Tarver and Johnson?

Ignoring knowledge and indulging in echolocation.
It was great in a way, soft Euro comes to Hopkins home country, on a golden boy card, moving up in weight, and Hopkins makes soft euro fight his fight, by backing away and setting trap after trap, AND HE STILL LOSES!!!, Hopkins can take that knowledge with him into retirement. :crafty:

he is shot no matter how you slice it

if he were to whup Joe it just means he pulled out another great peformance and only enhances his legacy

So does that mean he would have become magically "unshot" for this one fight? Do you actually believe that a fighter can be "shot" and then later "not shot" or is RJJ's being "shot" merely a convenient excuse for the losses to Tarver and Johnson.

I don't believe once a fighter is truly "shot", that he can come back from that and have an impressive performance. To me, "shot" means his skills and physical attributes are gone without hope of reclaming them. For example...Ali vs. Holmes and Berbick or Ray Leonard vs. Camacho. Those are examples of TRULY shot fighters.

If Jones is able to beat Calzaghe...then. as far as I am concerned, there is no way to justify claims that he is "shot".

I often use the term "should be shot" when refering to the present day Holyfield.

I don't think there is really any debat that Roy is basically Shot

I'm just saying even a SHOT Roy destroys Crapzaga

    I don't buy being shot and un-shot..

if you are Shot you are Shot.. you can still bring a good peformance here and there and I think vs Joe his Shotness wont matter as much..

even a Shot Roy is miles better than a PRIME Joe C

Dude, that doesn't make any sense. If you think Jones still has enough ability to defeat a good world class fighter like Calzaghe (and even though I think he gets overrated quite often, he is still a good fighter) then how in the world can you claim he is "shot"?

Unless maybe YOUR definition of shot is "slipped somewhat from his prime". Or is he shot sometimes and not shot sometimes? Which stikes me as kinda convenient.

    Roy is pretty Shot..

I'd say "slipped CONSIDERABLY from his prime"

but.. Roy even somewhat Shot has very fast hands and is a MUCH sharper puncher than Bernard..

I just think Joe C is not on the level of Roy.. even a pretty Shot Roy

I actually give Roy a decent chance to outbox Joe until he gasses. Athletically he is still better and faster than Joe. I also think he's had more power than him at any division.

I know Roy stays away from punchers. But he will really have to be shot to get hurt by Joe and become cautios.

I've seen Roy laid out twice and do a funny dance once, but I've never seen him gassed. Even in Tarver one he wasn't gassed, just weak.

maybe a combination of gassed and weak. simply because Joe is younger and is also a fast fighter that relies on speed.

It will be more about who can keep up with who and not who can hurt who.
