He's just joking b/c his name is "Golden Johnson".

Reed like's the innuendo he gets from fighter's names, like the Klit's.

Maybe it's a bit juvenile, but it's his niche and you learn to appreciate it.

Good points, and I agree. Cotto skilled and tough, but portrayed as this destroyer. This is not always the case. Ndou forced him to get on his bike and Mosley forced him to get on his motorcycle. The belief was that Cotto was going to break down Mosley and wear him down when it was the total opposite.

So, I just can't see Cotto breaking down and stopping a guy like Margarito. With Margarito's makeup I just can't see it happening. Plus from what weve seen of Cotto he CAN be gotten to. I don't think he is this juggernaut a lot of people make him out to be.

Cotto wasn't forced to back up against Mosley, he chose too! Its also convenient that when Cotto's weakness' are analyzed they are usually part and parcel of his earlier fights. Cotto keeps getting better, defensively and in the amount of things he can do to you.

I disagree personally. I think it was the accumulation or right hands and bodyshots that hurt Cotto that forced him to back up. He was hurt from as early as round 8,.. To me he was clearly hurt and fought that way out of necessity.

God you're stupid. Cotto is light years above Marge in terms of skill, talent, jab, boxing ability, handspeed, punch repertoire, timing, accuracy etc etc

Just about everything really apart from height and overratedness, Marge his him beat hands down in those areas.

And like REED said, Marge looked pretty fucking tame against Williams, he was hardly a raging beast there was he  And against Clottey for that matter.

When faced with someone like williams who isn't afraid to attack, suddenly marge's incredible aggression and workrate takes an enourmous hit.

The fact is, he just doesn't have the cajones to go all the way with his style, he fucking bottles it when someone consistently attacks him.

And you can be sure that he is going to bottle it when Cotto lands, hard, fast, accurate punches round after round, outlanding him 4-1, frustrating him, and busting his face up.

He could arrange to become Floyd's mandatory, a la Akinwande did with Lennox, but there's no way he can force Floyd to fight, obviously. Floyd is bigger than the belts, at least in the short term...meaning his lack of a belt wouldn't matter for a while.

Cotto was never hurt against Mosley..he saw that Mosley had the skills/power/chin/speed to last to distance so after going toe-to-toe with Mosley for the first 6-7 rounds....Cotto decided to box.....and guess what....HE OUTBOX Shane Mosley...

Like flamethrower said "the shit that cracks me up is that cotto can brawl, box, has good hand speed and his defence keeps improving but some people criticize him for not being one dimensional"...that is YOU KAUKI...criticizing Cotto for not being ONE-DIMENSIONAL like your boy Margarito..

would you say there's a pattern here emerging, whereas you basically shit all over Kauki's long-worded non-sensical posts by clearly predicting the winner of every fight and Kauki being dead wrong?
If yes, what do you think will happen in Cotto-Margarito fight, where you predict Cotto will win, and Kauki predicts Margarito will win?

My prediction will by Cotto by late TKO.....Kauki fearing defeat will probably pick Cotto by disputed decision....that why even if Cotto outbox/outslug Margarito 9 rounds to 3..he can say it was close.....

whatever the case, it was a good strategy considering he won the fight. he was effective outboxing mosley and ndou and winning rounds. some people seem to think since he adjusted during the fight he automatically lost the rounds.

Im not criticizing Cotto for being one dimensional, mother goose:notallthere: ??, I'm going heavily against the claim that Cotto will "out tough", and "out brawl" Margarito in a "slug fest",..if Cotto does fight one-dimensional, .....he'll lose,...., this is Margarito's bread and butter, this is the format that he's perfected, and he's better than any other fighter, pound for pound, at brawling wrecklessly.

Cotto is backing up. Cotto may win on points due to his defense and counterpunching abilities, but he will not win by "pressuring" Margarito... that's for sure.

see thats the problem "slugfest" if by "slugfest" you mean COTTO WILL not use his superior skills that you are right...it will not be a slugfest. A SLUGFEST is when two fighters just go out there forget about defense(if they have it) and swing for the fences.....

Margarito might go in there with the mindset of this will be GATTI vs. WARD...

While Cotto will go in thinking...Morales vs. BArrera I/ Corrales vs. Castillo...brawl/slug with skills...

Cotto is not going to go in there chin up in the air swinging punches with Margarito...after he isn't some Neanderthal......
