What is there to like about Floyd?

Was it the baldomir performance that won you over? Or the de la hoya sparring session?

He is rightfully one of the best P4P fighters in the world, but amongst the least likeable fighters I've ever seen.

he got booted. ever since he started promoting, i've not been as big a fan of his. i liked his willingness to fight Hopkins, but since then, he's been too selective about who he fights for him to qualify as one of my favorites.

but i guess since the question, "of all time," i might need to rethink my excluding him, considering all that he's given us.

i think my list as it stands focuses too much on the present state of affairs.

Do you consider taking a dive against Hopkins "willingness" to fight?

i consider it a giant leap to make such a claim about a guy who's shown as much guts as he did time after time throughout his career. and i also think if you watch the shot carefully, it's not as light and insignificant as people make it out to be.

Vinny Paz, after getting uttlerly DOMINATED by Roy Jones said that what happened was... he always has a cup of coffee right before a fight. So he had his coffee, then Roy took too long coming out to the Ring so Vinny was crashing from the Caffiene when the fight started:lol:

as if that explaines the fight

also.. if you were fighting 12 rounds.. wouldn't your cafiene run out anyway ?

Didn't he also credit his haircut as a reason he beat Rosenblatt?

(Saying it psyched him out or something.)

Why Marciano and Dempsey? Wouldn't you rather pick a fighter you've actually seen fight?

I'm not really sure who would round out the top 5. Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather are definitely up there. I also like:

    Julian Jackson
    Manny Pacquiao
    James Toney (before 2005)
    Terry Norris
    Diego Corrales
    Sugar Ray Robinson
    Matthew Saad Muhammad
    Dwight Muhammad Qawi
    Joe Louis

He's had his share of entertaining performances/fights (Ndou, Corrales, Chavez, Gatti, Manfredy, etc..).

Those were just a couple of the dull ones.

Yeah, I liked De La Hoya a lot more when he was a full-time fighter rather than a promoter slash part-time fighter.
