    Notes:
    Winky to be special guest.
Main event pits two southpaws.. Winner supposedly to get a shot at JCC Jr.......... right.
Marcus "Too Much" Johnson last seen on Spinks-Phillips undercard webcast. He was supposed to face Sam Hill, but didnt work out and will be fighting A.Greeley, not the one who just beat Abell, the other one who isnt very good.
Rest of card filled out with a few debuts and local favs.
Very notable trainers: Curtis Cokes, Tony Ayala, Jack Loew, & Kenny Weldon.

    $10 says Karl is a no-show.

But REED would MUCH Rather Watch Marcus Johnson Fight...The Anatole Card is Pretty SHITTY this Year...

Cedric Agnew vs. Rayco Saunders is the Main Event for some Cheesy WBC Title...

But it'll B Cool to See Duran & Mancini...

Houston Area Peeps Better Enjoy Marcus Johnson while they Can, Cause he's Gonna B "Bigtime" B 4 Looooong, Headlining N Vegas & Other Boxing Towns...

Reed knows his stuff. I tell anyone who will listen that Marcus is the best fighter training in Houston. Period. Bar none.
His bro is back, btw, and training again..

Marcus is on his way to camp with Jean Pascal after this fight.. Good sparring in prep for Zuniga, IPO.

Real Estate Council cards are good for their special guests and potential cougar attacks. Good scrap between Pryor and Karl's favorite sparring partner, Mouton, is on that card.

I remember watching that guy "martillo" Gonzales years ago when he was a prospect.

I wondered what happened to his carreer. Wasn't he a Top Rank prospect at the time?:dunno:

Yep, he was with Top Rank on many Telefutura shows wearing his 'brim'.
Zertuche is what happened to him..
He went into Zertuche fight on a big winning streak and with a broken hand which became worse in the first round to the point that he was a one handed fighter by time he got ko'd.
He fell out of favor with TR, many think due to the involvement of his father who trained him in amateurs and until that point. He moved to Houston where he's been under both training and management of Kenny Weldon.

I will have to owe you the ten bucks Mike.
I am back working at my other gig from 6-10 as my former employer is back in business, or a bit later this evening.
    Pug knows the deal.
I'll have to try and catch you guys on the next one if I can make it, if not, I'll be at Juan's fight in September when he whips Casamayor.

His technique was horrible at the time.

Not sure if he's made any improvements, but he was really not well-schooled for a fighter that recieved that much hype early on.

Is that a lock Karl? I am excited about this fight. It would be a good victory for Juan and it would put him back in business. Cassmayor is crafty but I don't see much that Katsidas could do as a threat, the kid just seems to leave himself open. It appears to me that Juan is a lot more technically together than Katsidas in this respect.

    Looking foward to it!

    Juan will take him, simon.
Mike is right about Marcus Johnson, he's terrific.
too bad I have to work, Viv is back in business though, and somebody has to watch over the girls.
Tough racket, but someone has to do it.

I believe he was named USABoxing's Amateur fighter of the year multiple times before turning pro.

    REED,

Please let us know why Mr. Curtis Cokes left town after the weigh-in and pulled Taronze out of his fight.

 REED LITERALLY just Got Off the Phone w/Taronze...

He's LIVID about Being Pulled Out...Dude Trained for a Month & 1/2 & NEEDED the Payday, Quite Honestly...

From what Taronze Told REED, Curtis & his Brother Joe were Upset Because the Promoter & Matchmaker WEREN'T @ the Weigh-In...Curtis was PISSY @ that Point...From there, they were Following some Guy to the Fighters Hotel & Got Lost...So Curtis Got on the Phone, Cursed Somebody Out & they Headed Back to Dallas...

VERBATIM, That's what was Told to REED:dunno: ...

Instead of the $1,200 or So he was Gonna Make, Taronze Got $100 from Curtis...That's Not Gonna Go Very Far w/a Wife & 3 Kids...Now Taronze's Afraid that he'll B Suspended but it WASN'T His Fault @ All, Mike...He WANTED to Fight & NEEDED to Fight but Curtis Took it Upon HIMSELF to Pull Taronze Out of the Fight...

If U're Associated w/the Promotion N ANY Way, Please Let them Know that it WASN'T Taronze's Call...& Hopefully that Doesn't Prevent them from Wanting to Work w/him N the Future...

    WOW

I think there was a definate personality class between Antonio Leonard and Curtis...

The matchmaker was at your show in Dallas, he had two on same day. His son ran the show in Houston. They match Taronze alot and are tight with the commission so I would think there will be no suspension and probably a card soon. The next ballroom card is in June, so maybe Taronze can fight Martinez there.

I havent heard, what happened in the Rayco Saunders fight?
Larry Pryor is a talented fighter but lazy trainer and I'm guessing didnt make weight because he didnt want to fight Mouton.

Am told that Diaz-Cassamayor is shakey..
MAB possible for 9/13 vs Diaz who appears to be keeping the date.

Best bet is Katsidis-Chavez falls out too when Diaz-Cassa falls out and Juan Diaz faces Jesus Chavez.

I know he was well-decorated amateur.

But watching his early fights it was hard to reconcile the reputation with the fighter in the ring.

By the Time Agnew & Saunders Fought, REED had Taken FULL Advantage of the OPEN Bar & was Deeeeeeeeeeply Entrenched N Boxing Conversations w/Roberto Duran & Ray Mancini:lol: ...

But REED Can tell U that Saunders was DROPPED 3 Seperate Times N the Very 1st Round...REED Would Guess that Saunders was Either STOPPED or DECISIONED Unanimously...

NO WAY he WON the Fight...
