Nice fight for Shane to take in the twilight of his career, Zab "Everett Martin" Judah. I guess when your a baby your fed mashed peas, and when your an ancient geriatric your also fed mashed peas, this is what kind of fight this is for Mosely.
dsimon writes: Shane is a brave and wonderful guy. Though I never cared for his style of boxing i think he showed a lot of grit against Cotto and his attitude about the decision was inspiring... Here was a guy willing to step aside for a young guy in a close fight.... a guy who was thinking about the division as a whole, not just himself, when considering the decision. Shane's smile was genuine and he was happy for Cotto and for his own stalewart effort. I think under 90% of conditions Mosley is the more dangerous guy. Mosley goes a full 12 rounds, thats for sure. But judah is an interesting opponent for Mosley specifically because Judah migh be a little bit faster, and a considerably stronger puncher than Mosley. Mosley does not out finesse people so.... If Judah is a little faster and stronger puncher, at least for the first 4 rounds or so this fight might be interesting! Can Mosley break the Spaz down? Can he avoid the Spaz's punches? I don't think Mosley can back Judah up in the first part of the fight. It might be a more intriguing match up then it first appears because of this. Both guys are veterans who rely on their physical gifts more than finesse. Judah, despite his self destructive nature is always a live dog for a while in a fight.
Mosley should win by late stoppage, but he'll be outfoxed, hurt and behind on points early. Will be a very good fight.
Shane's pretty hittable so there will be a couple rough spots for him early when he gets clocked by that straight left or gets baited into an uppercut, but Shane will break him down late en route to a TKO11. So basically it will look like every other Zab Judah fight.
are you insane? outfoxed by that dimwit judah? jesus h christ hurt? thats just fucking laughable
i dont think zab hits harder than shane and definently not considerably harder as soon as shane taps that chin, goodnight shane put up a hellova fight against cotto whos leagues better than zab, and hits harder
Fucking hell sly, you're a hater of the highest order. Outfoxed by Judah? Judah couldn't outfox his own shadow.
The good thing about this matchup vis a vis a Mythical matchup is that it's actually going to happen and then I'm going to make you eat your words. "Fucking hell" indeed, you cockney prick! ::
Judah's iddy biddy anger problem might have raised its head and caused some issues. Will find out more soon enougd and when I do, I'll tell my housemate.
As someone else said, this will look like every other fight Zab has had against an elite fighter. Zab will come out, all guns blazing, and will possibly hurt Shane early in spots and will look like he might have a chance to pull it off. Then, about halfway through the fight, Zab will realise that Shane has taken his best shots and is still standing in front of him, and his arse will fall out. He'll start backing up as Shane comes at him, and sooner rather than later, Shane will find the money shot which ends the fight, hopefully in another hilarious 'Zab starts dancing' moment, somewhere around the 11th. Then people will come on Fightbeat and start threads like 'Zab showed again that he CAN trouble the top guys' etc...:nono: MTF
dsimon writes: Your not thinking in more than one dimension... kind of how you politically analyze things frankly. Yes Judah is a bitch basically, but his style and Shane's style is such that it makes for a good early match up. Shane is hittable and Judah is fast and can punch. Its about styles not achievements. As Sly said Judah could carry the advantage early. After that he will fold like the Spaz he is, but there will be some leather thrown early and judah will probably tag Shane a few times. Of course Shane has the chin to reconcile, but it will at least be exciting. Besides I will tell you a secret.... Judah really thinks he can beat Shane. Thats the sense I get. I don't think Judah thought he could beat Mayweather or Cotto frankly. Thats just an opinion, but when Judah thinks he can win he does fight abit harder, its why he beat Corey Stinks.
dsimon writes: Indeed. I always gave people a lot of shit when they touted Judah, said he would beat a guy like Cotto or Floyd. Fact is though that the Spaz is quite a decent gatekeeper. He has the physical attributes to hang with the big boys and he is tough in spots. I guess my point is MTF that its true that the Spaz can indeed trouble the bog boys just enough to make it interesting.
I pick Shane by UD. I think he'll put Zab on his ass once or twice, but I think Judah will last the distance, simply because Shane isnt what he once was. Prime for prime, I'd definitely say Shane stops him within 7.
I'm a big Shane fan and I always thought his fights were very entertaining. So I'm curious, what was it about his style that you did not like?
judah will befuddle mosley w/ speed and stun him a few times early. it really depends on how much mosley has left, but i see mosley doing the similiar things that pineda did in the later rounds to eak out a close decision. i wouldnt be surprised if this turns out to be a dull fight.
