Any word on tickets guys? How's the theater at the garden as a live venue? Think ticket prices will be pretty reasonable?
June 21st at the theater, according to the Fightnews sched. You'll be there, right? I would ask for some press pases but I'll be on vacation. I'm going to the Yankees game earlier that day so I might not be 100% sober. ::
This is what Fightnews has... HBO Saturday, June 21 2008 Theater in Madison Square Garden, New York City, New York Cristobal Arreola vs Chazz Witherspoon (heavyweight) Dmitriy Salita vs Edgar Santana (junior welterweight) Andre Berto vs Miki Rodriguez (welterweight) Rayonta Whitfield vs TBA (flyweight) According to the Maxboxing sched, the site is TBA.
Lame. I've never been to a major fight... so I was excited about this. I guess the fact that I'm going to Cotto/Margarito the following month will cushion the blow.
It seems like a strange location, but perhaps we'll see if Berto can bring some Florida fans up to the FedEx. I guess once Salita-Santana fell through there wasn't much point to having this in NY.
Yeah, Miranda/Abraham II is a way better fight too, IMO. I was mostly excited to go to a BAD show because Lennox works them. He's the guy who got me in to this ruckus in the first place.
Honestly, I didn't even know the Salita fight was off. This isn't a very good card for BAD, IMO. I would really only be interested in going live. ::
Lennox is a popular guy these days. I've been to a few BAD shows and Lennox always gets fans coming up to him or calling his name out when he walks in or just standing ringside. Kind of a nice change from when he was actually fighting.::
I have to start going to more shows. I've decided that starting with Cotto/Margarito, I'm going to travel to one major fight show every year.
From my understanding it's mainly to stop him getting delayed too much with fans and autograph's and stuff. He doesn't like turning people down so his "bodyguards" sort of do it for him, I guess. :: I don't think he actually needs physical protection.
Because if a guy showed up with a few inches in height and a few pounds on him, Lewis wouldn't stand a chance :crafty:
steve, you wouldn'tr last two minutes in memphis. they don't take too kindly to flannel wearing dissapointments there.
