Who do you think was the man who made the most out of robbing the public of their money on shitty quality ppvs against handpicked junk or overall boring crap performances?

It Wasn't ALL his Fault, but Probably Mike Tyson...

During his Comeback his PPV Bouts vs. McNeely & Seldon were HUGE RIPOFFS...Then of Course, the Ear Bite N THE Most Anticipated Heavyweight RE Ever...

Mike Turned ALOT of Casual Fans AWAY from Boxing, During the Late 90's....

He's a top candidate for sure. Fought too many handpicked bums ON ppv for my taste. I think ppv should only be reserved for champions fighting other champions in real meaningful match-ups. Not handpicked garbage.

Hameds fights in the US could be entertaining, but he lost to Barrera, and as exciting and glammed up as the Kelley fight was, Kelley was past his best. Augie Sanchez was a flat out bum- in fact DiBella insisted there must be "no more Augie Sanchez fights" after the Sanchez fight. Then there was that awful, horrid debacle with Soto up in Detroit, and the bitter media wrankling against past-it-never-had-it-at-featherweight-anyways Wayne McCullough, in what was a stinker of a fight and involved some awful scenes with respected {not that I like him} journalist Colin Hart.

    So...

Kelley:- Past It Opponent, Great Fight, Yank Debut, B+

    Sanchez: Suspect Opponent, Entertaining: C+

McCullough: Past It Bantamweght, Crap Fight, C-

Soto: Title Fight  Horrid fouling affair, no fighting, farce D

Barrera: Fucked up the entrance {one of his main selling points}, upset the crowd, lost, got butt-fucked, made extremely distasteful comments, had "Islam" on his shorts, talked bollox and lost.....E MINUS.

    Overall Grade: D+
Hamed robbed y'all of your hard earned dollar.

The thread actually is referring to PPV fights. Fights which we were charged money to see. Not free fights on network tv.

With Gods Help.........what??:dunno: At least finish the sentence.

Nah...when a guy goes on TV and says he wears lamb skin green gloves cos thats an Islamic colour and it has to do with throat slitting, I kind of have to hope he gets beat. That he got beat by a Roman Catholic makes it all the better.:hump::hump:

If some secular dude in Texas wants to get upset then fine.:dunno:

But they gave us Tyson-Mathis Jr. for free!!!:rolleyes:

Part of what made McNeely and Seldon rip-offs was their endings because neither really came to a good conclusion.

It's not like people were paying to see McNeely do anything but fall down in that fight...but Vecchione ruined that.

And Seldon marred the fight by doing what he had to do to get out of it with that little head shake and wobbling in the knees.

Whether REED AGREES w/it or Not, when a Guy REGULARLY Fights N Front of MILLIONS, he's Done SOMETHING to EARN the Right to Use that Stage as HIS Platform...

REED ISN'T Sooooooo Easily RATTLED where he's Gonna Have a HISSY Fit @ the Scent of Something he DOESN'T Like...

Hissy fit my balls..........in strict reference to the question asked, the Soto and McCullough fights were rip-offs, and the Augie Sanchez fight wasn't far behind.

Hamed was a little offensive shit. I enjoyed watching him get beaten and sodomized by Barrera.

agREED on the McCullough Fight, but the Soto Fight was Soooooooo DIRTY, it was Mildly Entertaining...& the Sanchez Fight was EXTREMELY Entertaining...1 of the Best "Action" Fights of that particular Year...

Hamed was HARMLESS...He was PROUD of his Ethnicity & Religion, but it's NOT Like he was Trying to COVERT Anybody...He was No More "Offensive" than Evander Holyfield, N REED's Opinion...

REED Doesn't See how a 5'3, 120lb Guy w/HUGE Ears & BAD Teeth Could "Offend" Anybody...

    Your Skin is Toooooo THIN...

TWIN got it right with the post-prison (first term, anyway) portion of Tyson's career.

    GLH also deserves dis-honorable mention.

These fights had no business being on PPV or taking place at all:
    Camacho ($40), Castillejo ($40), Chavez II ($40), Campas ($50), Sturm ($50)

These fights were "PPV worthy" on paper, but turned out to be basura:
Whitaker ($50), Tito ($50), Hopkins ($55), Mayweather ($55 - and among the all-time worst undercards for a high-profile bout to boot)

The Rivera fight ($35-40?) wasn't PPV-worthy on its own, but had a solid undercard (and upsets galore).

The Mayorga event ($55) was exploitation, but again the undercard somewhat justified it (though certainly not one for the time capsule) and the fight itself wasn't half-bad.

The Mosley rematch ($55) was OK, but gets mentioned far more for the final verdict than the 12 rounds that preceded it.

The Quartey fight ($50) is best remembered for 2 rounds (6 and 12) and a close, either-way (not necessarily controversial) type of decision, but the fight as a whole was a letdown. Don't remember much of the undercard, other than Erik Morales nearly decapitating Angel Chacon.

Then you have Ruelas ($35), Chicanito ($40), Chavez I ($40), Vargas ($55), and MAGO ($40).

All told, 18 cards, upwards of about $900, and I'd say fans received fair market value (relatively speaking for no more than 1/3 of that list.

Tyson and De La Hoya fights were real events, so I didn't have a big problem with them being on pay per view because they had the general audience to support those fights...and it was easy to get a group together to watch them.

Plus, that was back in the day when sometimes they'd actually put together an undercard...until Arum introduced The 'Bean and Miss Playboy Pink. Trinidad-DLH had one of the worst undercards ever.

The worst DLH ppv had to be the Campas fight with the Morales-Velardez beat down on it.

With Tyson, I think the dividing line was between the Holyfield rematch and the Botha fight.

If you say that in error then I'll not hold it against you, but if you do say it out of ignorance then I have to assume you have not seen the footage I have seen. Its quite normal footage, nothing "off-the-record" about it.

For a start...he converted his wife, which is standard Islamic procedure...

Now, thats his business, of course, because in Islam a man owns his wife...

But the comments made about the importance of having "Islamic" green sheep-skin gloves and the "throat slitting" were quite offensive, and if I can find a link for a vid you will be the first to have it. He quite clearly draws a corrollation between the gloves, the colour green, and Barreras throat...implying that Barrera was an Infidel who deserved to have his throat slit. Don't get me wrong, you couldn't pass it off as a joke or as typical pre-fight nonsense. It was waaaay more sinister than that.

Hamed also insisted on having the word "ISLAM" emblazoned on his shorts, and he insisted on Michael Buffer uttering direct Islamic rhetoric and dogma during the announcements on the night of the Barrera fight, about there only being ONE GOD, Mohammed is his Prophet, the standard-issue battle cry of Hamed and his raping ilk.

He also, towards the end of his career {not that he knew it was coming of course...WAR BARRERA} insisted on directly referencing "ALLAH" in a manner and fashion which is eerily congruous with the manners and styles of some of the better known Muslim scumfucks who have come to light since 9-11.

Of course, if you want to sit in your Ward and be cool with this, its your problem.:dunno:
