You never did get into it but why were you so sure that Williams would win and how did you envision it playing out. Certainly not a KO1? I didn't see anything he could improve on. In the brief fight, he did improve on his jab for sure, and obviously landed that straight left. I just dont' think Quintana recovered from that shot.

I was pretty shocked. Quintana just looked to have paul's number, it was a fairly decisive victory for carlos the first time, and I didn't see what paul could do differently.

Also, he never really hurt carlos the first time.

Surprising result, and credit to tall paul.

Whether it was legit or not, I bought into the excuses. Meaning that Williams never had a chance to prepare and focus because of Quintana being named his opponent so late in the game. But, yeah, I never envisioned the way it ended, I was thinking a close decision.

My question is where does Quintana go from here?

It depends on how far he falls in the rankings.

He's in a similar position to Luis Collazo. Maybe they can fight each other.

I was thinking something similar but the name I thought of was Cintron.

    Luis Collazo is irrelevant.

I think Quintana deserves a third fight, quite frankly. Early round knockouts often leave more questions than answers, especially considering the manor of the victory he claimed in their first fight.

For some reason, when the loser of the first fight wins a rematch, fans automatically discount what happened in that first fight as if it were a fluke. Surely the is more "fluke" in a first round KO, than a 12 round drubbing.

The chin Quintana showed tonight probably made it more likely for Cintron to consider it. But he doesn't even have a promoter right now, as far as I know. I haven't even read who is interested in him...or what his situation with Manny Steward is.

I did read he's planning on coming back in September or so.

I'm not sure we'll see a third fight, though.

Collazo is actually the highest ranked WBC contender after Berto and Rodriguez and he's high in the WBA rankings as well...so he'll probably avoid any tough fights until he can cash in one of those title shots.

Yeah but the more he waits, the less likely his opportunity. He needs to beat a top 5 welter ASAP. If he can.
