It was announced about 2 months ago I believe. I think Fenech was going to fight Payakaroon who pulled out for some reason, he heard Nelson was interested so organised that fight quick smart. Turns out Nelson had been training for another fight aswell.
I said I wouldn't buy this but I'm going to. Not for the main event which is a disgrace but to see how William Kickett does against a good veteran fighter in Gairy StClair.
Jeff won but it had a stench about it. Nelson made a few comments post fight which made me think we gave him the Joan Collins Special. I watched Will Kickett put up a great performance against veteran Gairy StClaire but ultimately I thought he lost by 2 rounds. Then the Aussie judges proceeded to rip the trunks off of St Claire and give it to him right up the pooper. No Lube. Two of the judges only gave Gairy 2 rounds! Fucking disgrace. Forget German refs, we have the worst in world right here.

Hmm... the fight took place at Oscarweight. Perhaps Fenech is now the frontrunner for Oscar's grand finale.
What a farce that was. I'm not going to even bother commenting on the fight, as someone said before i can't believe i talked myself into staying up and going to the pub to watch it. Fenech's De La Hoya impersonation for the last two rounds summed up the night. What i want to say is that i think we have the worst judges, refs and commentators in the world. The constant bullshit that 'home' fighters are allowed to get away with almost every time thanks to the combined efforts of all three is nothing short of disgraceful. Some commentary quotes from that left an impression from last night, not exact but more or less: "Why do ODLH and Mayweather get paid so much more then these guys?" "This is Gatti-Ward in Australia!" Wow. I'm serious about this, is there anyone based in Melbourne who would be interested in establishing a rival commentary team? Get like a public broadcast radio station or some shit, i reckon we could comp ringside tickets at the very least. And given that we will be at least 1438 times better than the current guys, as we actually know something about rules, current international repuations, scoring, once people actually know there's an alternative i'm sure we'll get some following. Or whatever. I'm just so sick of listening to these dickheads every time. I take my mates down to watch fights, who are at best casual boxing fans, and even they can see that these guys are clueless. Anyone interested?
