Sure was, and that ruined Quarry's very promising career as he was never the same fighter after that.
Foster was the greatest one punch KO artist at light heavy, IMO.
Foster said after the fight in the interview and still maintains to this day that Quarry was the best light heavyweight he ever fought.

the people doing the commentating I thought were awful. Up to the point of the KO, Quarry was doing well, and I thought was actually winning the 4th round, but the way they were calling it, you'd think Foster had knoked him down 8 times already.

    Foster is a beast

Foster was a bad-ass but he also was one of those guys who wasn't aywhere near the same fighter when he stepped up in division

REED is talking out his ass. Terrance Ali was a lightweight, and Walt Frazier wasnt even a boxer!

It's a good point tho - it didn't matter if it was Ali, Frazier, Foley, or Terrell - Foster lost to all off them. Foster is a top 5 favourite of mine but he couldnt get it done as a heavyweight.... maybe because all of his size advantages were nullified at heavy, and if i'm not mistaken he would walk into the ring at about 182 pounds which isnt as drastic a weight difference than it would have been today but it's still a big factor. At 175 tho i never saw a more devastating puncher - P4P too. He has a couple of the most impressive KO wins i have ever seen in boxing's history as well

I kind of meant that Foster also kind of lost to other bigger kind of guys than "the greatest ever"

Unfortunately there was no John Ruiz around for Foster to pick up a quick trinket from before dropping back down to Light Heavy. Thank god to, because Foster didn't have to lose all that muscle mass after fighting somebody of Ruiz's calibre.

If you can't beat Zora Folley in 1965, he wouldn't have beaten Ruiz either.

Folley had just beaten Chuvalo and Bonavena and outweighed a green Foster by 31 lbs.

You're right Jaws, with his modern fighting techniques Ruiz would wipe the floor with those 60's bums.

John Ruiz is diarrhea, but so is Zora Folley or ernie terrell, both of whom wiped their ass with a Heavweight Bob Foster
