Amen! Serves Torres' punk ass right! He tried to do his best impression of Nigel Benn against Barkley!

Its a fight. Shit happens. Besides, a Roy Jones fan should know better than to pick such an argument.

Well like you said shit happens. Either way the headbutt did have an affect, but that right hand was beautiful.

If not a third fight, then lets see Holt fight Harris! Two right hand bombers with no chins.

I was hoping that since Harris was KOed by a grown man called Junior, that we wouldnt have to worry about him anymore. I have no interest in that guy.

similar, but results sure aren't similar. And the punch Holt took when he got up was big. A lot of fights would have ended right there because it would have ktfo the guy who just stood up.

A hell of a lot happened in a minute, that's for sure. And it happened with at least 20 seconds of no fighting due to the counts.

Yeah, why not. Thats a potentially boring fight, but it makes a lot of sense. Especially for Showtime.

I dont think it would be a boring fight. Granted the only time Ive seen Bradley is against Witter.

Well, well, well. Guess who bet KO1 either fighter and a knockdown within the first three rounds. Unfortunately I didn´t bet either fighter Knocked down, cause I fell asleep and didn´t hear my radio alarm. :bangh::bangh:

Thank God people are mentioning the head butt on here. I turned off the Showtime telecast before they started talking about it.

To me, it was CLEAR that the head butt had an impact on the fight. Holt landed an uncontested haymaker because Torres was stunned from the butt. I am not trying to take anything away from the balls that Holt showed.... but to me this calls for a mandatory re-match. Its not often that you see someone's chin jolted from a butt-- after seeing it at full speed I was looking forward to the replay because I assumed it was a beautiful short right hook that must have backed torres up like that.

And no, they are not "even" for the punch Torres landed after the second KD. Nady was late to jump in and Holt came jumping back after touching his gloes to the canvas. It was not like when RJ had a second to survey the scene and still hit Montell late.... this one was a sloppy knockdown and Nady tried to pull Torres off but was a second late.

Props to Holt, but the headbutt was a major storyline. They each have a contreversial KO over the other IMO.

I noticed this fight got some extended highlights on Sportcenter...well, as extended as a 1 minute fight can get.

Torres deserves a ton of credit for making that fight, but perhaps pushed it a little too much, because despite Holt going down twice he never looked seriously hurt. Perhaps because it was so early in the fight. He jumped right up after both knockdowns, the second of which didn't really come from a clean punch...and Holt was aware enough to put his gloves to the canvas instead of going all the way down.

The headbutt was a significant factor in the outcome...because it clearly backed Torres up and gave Holt a free shot at his chin against the ropes.

Great fight. I would like to see Torres be given a rematch, or at least go right back at the front of the line for a title shot because he might need some time to recover from this one. He was completely out of it when he went to the canvas.

I also think Torres needs to be brought back to Showtime or HBO. If he doesn't fight for a title, at least put him on BAD or Showtime undercard against someone like Urango or one of the numerous prospects that are out there.

A fight with Victor Ortiz would be nice. :crafty:

I agree I watched this a few times already and the headbutt started it all. I wonder if there ia anything Torres can do? But either way this was one of the most brutal ko's I have ever seen! Torres may never be the same after this.

What a round, first time seeing both guys live, the head butt clearly stunned Torres and the finishing punch was just salt in the wound. Very unfair IMO but again what a round.

Plus it was over in time [during the adverts] to flick back to the UFC so I got to see both

Poor Torres, I dont even think he knows there was a headbutt. He's just sayin that he got careless, and got caught.

BS victory, doesn't mean anything. Holt won because of a freak accident that went his way. There has to be a mandatory rematch.

Five minutes after the last punch was thrown, Torres sat on his stool with an icepack on his head.

“I had him, he was in my hands. I got careless, he caught me,” said Torres after the fight. “A head butt caught me and made me off-balance and I never saw the last punch.”

they'll push for another rematch the same way holt did...and being such a wild fight anyway, it will probably happen.

The head-clash was clearly accidental (sorry, but the term "head-butt' gives me an impression of intent)....it is easy to blame Nady, but how many times during a fight do the heads clash?...countless, and very few result in a fighter getting staggered.....it was a crazy fight and everything was happening so fast....

...infact, had Torres not been stunned by the clash, or had survived the round, it would have disadvantaged Holt because he picked up a cut from it.

Holt had Top Rank behind him when he pushed for a rematch. At $250,000 it made sense for Torres to take the fight.

Not sure it'll be the case the other way around.

    Nice photos.

The first one is telling becuase Torres is in that position because of the headbutt/clash of heads.

It doesn't take away from the toughness Holt showed in getting off the canvas twice to comeback and win, but he doesn't get the opportunity to take batting practice on his chin if they don't hit heads.

Holt was lucky IMO, a rubber match would be fair, especially considering why this rematch was held in the first place.

    The headbutt knocked torres silly

It was the only factor that ko'd him. It didn't look intentional but it is the only reason torres lost.

Torres lost because he got hit with a hand. Gtfoh head butt. It was a punch that turned out the lights. No way would this have been overturned even seeing the headbutt fighters get hit with ALL the time. The guy had his hands by his face and still got caught, end of story.....protect yourself at all times.

They've made statements to that effect?

It's one thing to say the knockout was set up by the headbutt...which seems clear.

That's not the same thing as saying the headbutt caused the knockout.
