Well Mora turned down Taylor, and beat Vernon Forrest. Now he´s waiting for Oscar de La Hoya and being beaten into a coma doesn´t seem like the best option even for 1.2 million. His career choices have been extraordinary for such an ordinary fighter. As a clubfighter you have to maxcimize your earnings. Just look at David Diaz. 700K for an ESPN2 undercard attraction.

This fight is disgusting...here are a list of guys I would see as acceptable on some level:

sebastain sylvester, anthony mundine, winky wright, amin asikainen, Duddy, obviously Abraham or Griffin if he beats sturm, Mora, mayb even trinidad

    Otherwise 168...

I´m not so sure Pavlik would utterly destroy Williams. Who knows how Williams carries 160, maybe not the brightest idea to test it against Pavlik though. Still I´d rather see Williams than a chinny middleweight like Sylvester, a total scrub like Duddy, or a drained to death Mundine. I prefer a fight between the young prime undisputed middleweight champ against a young 6´1 welterweight titlist over these kind of fights.

Very nice from Klaus Peter Kohl, like he has shit to say about it.:lol:

The winner of Griffin/Sturm has to faces mandatory Sebastian Sylvester in 90 or 120 days. Sauerland won´t allow Pavlik to snatch the belt, when Sylvester will have no obligation to face Pavlik should he win the belt. Of course th WBA could always pull the regular champion bullcrap.

Come on Kelly. Please don't follow in JT's footsteps by wanting to fight smaller guys. A Kelly Pavlik fight vs Paul Williams is horrific especially for Williams. Hell Paul should try and wait for the winner of Margarito/Cotto and take that fight. Hell he could even fight the loser of that fight. As far as Pavlik needs to clean up the 160lb divison which includes Abraham. That's the fight that needs to be made immediately. I'll Holla 5000

Actually I've changed my mind. This isn't a good fight. I'd much rather see Pavlik fight Arabham.

However Tam, like Steve said, I think Pavlik is just one of those fight anyone kind of guys, that fights whoever his management put in front of him, like Cotto, and don't really fuss over opponents.

Hopefully this fight isn't made at this time. Williams simply doesn't have the proper form to beat a guy like Pavlik. It would be entertaining as long as it lasted, though. Everyone is well aware that Williams gets hit waaaay too much; against a man that has been campaigning at a higher weight, already at the unquestioned championship level, and has shown accuracy and power to be his major strongpoints...uh-oh...

Pavlik-Wright is a great match to make because there is no rush on a timeline. Winky has no title to defend. Meanwhile, Abraham, Sturm, etc. can do whatever they need to do, and we can talk about them afterward. In terms of styles, Wright has lost some mobility so he HAS to be a wait and counter kind of fighter, and when he does throw it's in compact, quick straight bursts. He's been at the weight before, though clearly not his best but definitely showed respectable performances. Pavlik doesn't have the same explosive speed, but he does show serious accurate form and those heavy-handed blows that can stun even through a blocked guard. If Wright can swallow some pride (doubtful) He gets to earn a bit more money and put on a respectable showing for what I think is a decision loss.

Yea you might be right about that. But if Pavlik couldn't hurt him I think Williams could make it interesting but I would much rather see him move up slowly though. I hope Pavlik and Wright make it happen some kind of way.

Yup. And he doesn't have much time to do it.

I've been saying this about Winky for years.

Problem is that like everyone has said, at 160 it's Abraham or Wright...and not much else.

If neither of those two fights can be made...then Pavlik should move up to 168. Of course, from the Team Pavlik/money side, I'd want to milk my partially unified title as long as I could as well.

    Peace.

That would be a good one, and I don't know why this post is overlooked.

Hell of a fight this would be as long as it lasts....though I'd pick Pavlik, at 168 this would get interesting given styles.

Great opponent to once again go up around 168 lbs.

    Peace.

Who is there at 168 for Pavlik that would be available in the fall?

People are giving Pavlik a hard time like he has all the options in the world. He's got very limited options for his next fight right now. The winky fight would be signed already if Winky would take the 1.2 million or so Arum offered. I mean really, how much is Winky worth these days? Not much more than that.

I think Paul will be alright,..he makes some super middleweights look like dwarves, it would have to take a big light heavyweight like Bernard Hopkins before he starts to look normal,.. he's not a fucking welterweight, nor a junior middleweight,.. he'll do just fine at middleweight with Pavlik,.. but he shouldnt jump in with him immediately... 1 tune up first,.. then the Spider will eat the moth.

what's amazing is i think all this time Williams hasn't even been throwing hard at 147 - either in defense of getting tagged himself or in order to preserve his energy - but the power he unleashed on Quintana he had not shown before.

do you suspect he wouldve knocked margarito out if he had unleashed this previously untapped, quintana rematch power?

I'm not giving Pavlik a hard time; just stating the obvious beyond Arthur and Winky at 160.:dunno:

I know Bute-Andrade is made...I was just stating Pav-Andrade would be a fight I'd see.

And you saying Winky is wrong in not taking money? Say it isn't SO!! :crafty:
