I dont know all that much about Thompson, but I looooooooove the fact that at the advanced age of 36, after just starting boxing one day out of the blue at 27,.. he goes to Germany and annihilates Luan Krasniqui, who's had a life-long amatuer background before he even started his much pampered proffesional career,.. that is truelly brilliant, I hope Luan thinks about that after boasting like a smart arse,.. a pudgey old man off the street, travels all the way to Germany, and tapped dat ass! to be precise...

Im a fan of Wlad, he's got a goofy porcelin head, on a war machine with guns, I think he'll win, but if his form stays true against southpaws, especially tall reachy ones, it'll be an awkward, awful, fight that drops Wlad's stock..

Wlad UD in a fight which has American sportswriters longing for the good old days where Ruiz, Byrd and Brewster held titles..

Wlad by mid round KO in a fight none cares about.

Wlad would make prime Tyson chew the rubber bone the way Buster did :stir:.

I predict another slow-paced fight. Wlad takes control with his jab and Thompson goes into his shell. However he is a bigger target than Sultan so Wlad will collect him in perhaps eight rouns

Wlad's power seems to do weird things to people - few are willing to open up against him. And since Wlad is happy to walk into free victories behind his jab, waiting for a chance instead of going for the kill, chances are that we will hear bitching after this fight too. Thompson doesn't look like a guy who would take much risks and he is first and foremost a long-distance boxer.

Then could Haye be the perfect fight to bring the best out of Wlad?

If best means the most entertaining, then yes he could, he has the style for it. Of course it remains to be seen how he looks at heavyweight division before going further in that.

I just watched Thompson-Krasniqi and it was actually a pretty entertaining and techical boxing match an Thompson did look quite good in it. Krasniqi of course is not a puncher

Thompson is slow and easy to hit. Wlad will have no problems with this guy.

Brewster was the same, as was Sanders, honestly Thompson is better than Brewster and his power is underrated.

Brewster actually has pretty quick hands, just has slow feet. Sanders? There's nothing slow about Sanders at all. He straight left hand was quick as hell. Thompson has to hit someone a lot to hurt them, his power isn't much. However his defense and speed both clearly SUCK. Big weakness's that Wlad can exploit. Easy fight for him.

Brewster yes, Sanders no. Sanders was not slow by any means. He had only one weapon which was that quick and accurate left cross and Wlad lacked the skill to deal with it. Thompson doesn't have anything like that.

As for Brewster, he was indeed pretty slow and easy to hit and I thin it was for those reasons that Wlad had such an easy time with him year ago. Thompson is clearly better than him yes and he is among the better heavyweights. In fact, I could well see him beating Sultan, Peter and maybe even Valouev and Chagaev. However Wlad hasn'd had much trouble with boxer-types in the past and I don't think he will have them now either
