There is overwelming evidence that Fraud ducked Margarito,.. Cotto on the otherhand?.. well he's got more balls in the sense that he's willing to fight the man Fraud undoubtably FEARS,.. but Fraud DID enquire about a fight with a much less developed Cotto, as he does, he thought he would run, backtwist and elbow his way to a decision,...but Arum pleaded no contest,.. so it's a bit hard to say that Fraud ducked Cotto unless he turns something down these days,..

Cotto needs to skin his gloves as per usual. That's much easier to do with 8 oz. gloves. Slide that tape up.......by the time he enters the ring, he may as well have MMA gloves on.

Margarito's camp better superivise this and not allow him his usual tape job.

I figured it was too soon.:kidcool: I couldn't get confirmation about it anywhere.

 

all good Hex this is coming from some hack named Frank Igor. He was the one who supposedly quote Tony as saying that he would stop Cotto in 4 if he fought and 8 if he ran. I asked Tony's manager and he said Tony never said that, that very few have been allowed into Tonys camp, and that he was there the day this guy supposedly interviewed Tony and no one interviewed Tony that day.

he is now saying Tony was 147 two weeks before the fight. I shot video of Tony July 2nd and no way was he even close to 147. He was a healthy 155ish and not at the point where he is cutting (all this week)

 

Eanz,..... in an interview,....... I read, not long ago,.............*tears forming*..................... Antonio said that if Cotto plans to box, he'll box, and if he plans to fight, he'll fight,... that box part truelly worries me because, Cotto WILL box Margarito, and the thought of Margarito trying to outbox Cotto, disturbs me on so many levels, can you help with this?..

Cotto-Margarito Tickets, not as hot and Vegas temps... bad sales

Well it looks like the Cotto/Margarito fight is doing pretty bad on sales. Arum has done a very poor job promoting this fight. I guess this is the result of that.

 

Well it is featuring one guy who has never been a ticket seller against another guy who can't sell tickts in a venue anywhere further than 130 miles from madison square garden.

 

The venues in Puerto Rico are a little further than 130 miles away from MSG ::... but point taken. Arum seriously overplayed his hand in bringing this fight to Vegas. Who gives a fuck if the West Coast media isn't as willing to travel to cover the event live?

I'm sure ticket sales will pick up next week, the week of the fight, but a lot of the shit he's had to say in the past about the industry is taking a big bite out of his ass lately.

 

Good point. This fight would have done great if it had been in MSG. But I also blame Arum. This fight has not had it's proper promotion. No 24/7? This fight is candidate for fight of the year. I think Arum could have done a much better job.

 

It's hard to blame Arum for no 24/7 when he had to beg HBO to just do a Countdown special. But I agree, the promotion deserved a lot better than for Top Rank to just put it on auto-pilot and expect the event to sell itself.

 

no I dont think he will ever try and outbox anyone it's just not how Tony fights. I do think he will be smarter with the pressure he will bring to Cotto. Camp has been good, they have been working refining some of the traits Tony has in him and his punches seem to have a crispness to them as opposed to his normally thudding sound.
