I hope Jones buries this sloppy boring f*cker! I hope Jones comes at Calzaghe with really bad intentions rather than trying to put on a show like he normally does. Just go after him and level the f*cker good!

Well according to a poster on another board who (legitimately) hangs in the same circles, Roy is extremely pissed as he feels the injury is not legit.

Something to the effect of Joe not being comfortable after seeing Roy recently, who is already close to fighting shape (Jones has been sharpening his tools as he likes to call it).

Roy being pissed is great news! :bears: Let it all build up slowly and then explode on fight night! :warning: Take it ALL OUT on the Welsh! :crafty:

To be honest, even though I can't wait for this fight the extra time will allow for a real proper buildup, making this potentially the biggest event of the year. Glad they're doing the HBO 24/7 series on this one.

It's good for the promotion of the fight in at least two respects......time to promote the fight properly.......and perhaps Joe's injury will create a grudge if Jones doesn't feel it's legit, up to now they have been almost cock-suckingly respectful to one another

RJJ is intimidating because he's such an arrogant prick. I definitely wouldn't rule out the possibility that Sloppy Joe is a little pysched out.

In Hopkins case, he posed a much lesser threat to Joe IMO:

    a. He's less popular (less legendary if you will)
    b. Stylistically he posed many fewer problems than RJJ will
    c. RJJ has created the myth that he can and will knock anyone out if he decides to (e.g. RJ shows up).
    d. RJJ has more conspicuous fan support than Hopkins did - let's face it: as boxing fans go, RJJ's groupies are among the more flamboyant.

It's a wonder anyone ever fought Roy Jones, prime or otherwise.

Say what you will, but he did manage to intimidate nearly every opponent he faced. In fact, only the ones who beat him had the mental edge I think. In Johnson's case I think it was due to RJJ having come off a loss. In Tarver's case, it was the controversey surrounding the first fight and the smack-talk from Tarver when asked if there were any questions (an unprecedented move on Tarver's part when you consider that previously fighters always treated that question strictly as a rhetorical one).

Well it's back on for November 8th, still at the Garden. That's for all us RJJ groupies but, really, who are we kidding? You'll all tune in. Anyway, Jones is proposing that they weigh in twice and fight for Calzaghe's two titles. A novel idea but I don't think Jones goes for it. But I am happy that my boy is confident.

Did Joe get a blister on his palm that prevents him from being able to slap with proper form?

Doesn't matter when the fight is. Calzaghe is going to retire Michael Vick's uncle for GOOD!

All this talk from RJJ groupies on here and still NOT ONE of them has the balls to step into the betting forum. :atu:

Seeing as I post here about once every blue moon, I'd be more than willing to risk sig space. I just didn;t think it was a fair bet. 30 days? I might post here five out of the thirty days. But, yes, I'm willing.

I'm not into taking peoples money. Hell as a matter of fact the last cash bet I made and won was against you and I really didn't want to take your money. That's why I did that favor for you. But a sig bet is good to go. I'll Holla 5000
